My dogs loves this! I have a 14 yr old GSD and I have been looking for something like this. Duck is great nutrition with the gee to help with digestion and skin and this seems good quality ingredients. It’s easy to use! It gets a little sandy so I put a little in the microwave for a couple seconds and it melt enough to stay in their toy. My 2 yr old GSD has anxiety and licks a lot. This helps settle him down.

This stuff is awesome. My dog loves it; I dole it out in smidgens inside a Toppl or lick mat, sometimes freezing it, and he's always happy when I do. I find the consistency perfect--just store it upside down on your counter as one reviewer suggested. Good quality ingredients, too.

My dog is pretty picky and on a salmon/rabbit-only diet. I thought this was promising so I bought it. I think I may have given him too much too fast (he is only 9 lbs) but even when I eased off, it caused him to have diarrhea - it definitely was this because he's on a strict hypoallergenic diet and this was the only new thing he ate. He did love the taste though. The smell is fishy and strong so beware if you don't tolerate fishy smells well, but once the jar is closed there is no scent. The texture is smooth and a little gritty. It spread pretty easily on a lick mat, though if I recall correctly it did clump a little bit. I would definitely still recommend giving this a try (my dog also has a sensitive GI system) - just start with a VERY small amount to help your dog adjust/gauge whether their stomach can handle it first. I docked a star just for the diarrhea but like I said - he is a sensitive dog so it could easily be totally fine for most normal dogs.

I bought this product in a desperate attempt to get my border collie to stay in the tub for 5 minutes for his medicated foot bath. My dog has an unfortunate combination of skin allergies on his feet and an all-consuming hatred of getting his feet wet. He will not allow us to shampoo his feet, and few things are more challenging than forcing a herding dog to do something they don’t want to do. His little head is full of thoughts, and all of them are about how to get out of the tub. Inconveniently, he also has a peanut allergy, so a peanut butter lick may was not an option. I tried everything: cream cheese, sweet chili Doritos, retaining a large man to gently embrace him. Nothing worked. My Hail Mary: ghee for dogs. Boy oh boy did it work. I put two tablespoons of duck-flavored ghee on a suction cup lick mat on the shower wall, and a miracle occurred. My spoiled, allergy-prone, sheepless wonder not only allowed me to shampoo between his sensitive little baby toes, but also stayed in the tub for the mandated 5-10 minute soak and the rinse cycle. And he STAYED. 77 minutes later, he was still in the tub, going hog wild on a completely clean lick mat. Now I cannot get my border collie out of the tub. Gone are the days of chasing rabbits in the backyard; now he stands at the bathroom door and longs for ghee like a sad Victorian woman standing on the balcony of a lighthouse watching for her husband’s ship. If I could give less than one star, I would. On the jar, it says to either leave out "or" refrigerate after opening. I refrigerated and now it is as hard as a rock. I can't return because it is perishable. Save your money and don't buy this product.

Update: after adding water three times and making a few messes, the consistency is finally that of peanut butter. But since my dog LOVES it and is allergic to peanut butter, I’ll likely order again for enrichment activities and recipes. Added a star for solving an issue. Added another star because it is freaking adorable in his cinnamon roll toy—both in the original and water-added versions! 😍 Hoping they solve the quality issue, perhaps market it differently or use different packaging. I might immediately transfer it to a larger container so that I can add enough water to make it the desired consistency straight away. Overall, good for dogs who are allergic to or avoid peanut butter, but requires some TLC. Original review: Arrived in a dry, hard lump with crumbs, with the seal in tact. NOT SPREADABLE. Thought I would try the beef flavor since I didn’t see a bad review on it, but apparently all the flavors arrive in this state. Going to try to add water to fix the issue, but I’m not going to hold my breath. Not impressed with this spreadable peanut butter alternative. Will update the review as things progress.

Dogs love it! And we love that it’s peanut free. We have peanut allergy in the house.
