A fantastic repaint of AC1000 Superman paired with a deadly foe
This Gold Label Atomic Skull vs. Superman 2-pack is absolutely worth picking up, it's got a great repaint of McFarlane's Action Comics #1000 Superman which alone is worth the price of admission since that figure's been out of issue for a while and worth a ton of the aftermarket, but for MSRP of just two basic figures, you also get a bad guy figure to scrap against who's sporting translucent features, he's got a big energy stand for both figures, and both figures have alternate hands, a classic figure stand, and collector card.Superman is the main attraction of this set, it's the McFarlane DC Multiverse Action Comics #1000 Superman sculpt with a new paint job to be a little more his normal, heroic self. The sculpt is updated with a few newer touches like techy lines and chevron cuffs, but feels pretty classic overall, he looks right at home with Knightfall Batman. The physique is well-balanced, muscular but not utterly massive. The cape is rubbery enough to move around but firmly attached to the middle back, and doesn't sport the S-shield on the back.Superman's head is painted without bags under his eyes or hollows or lipstick or side-eye or a weird skin tone; there is a subtle use of blushing paint on the cheeks and chin, but it's not bad. The uniform is a nice balance of corn blue that's just a little more yellow than other versions in this line, with somewhat bright red and yellow; the chest shield is painted slightly darker red to contrast with the rest of the red. The only issues in paint are the knees and ankles being darker than the rest of legs, and I'm not a fan of the blue wrist ball joints, that color should have stopped at the chevron cuffs.Articulation on both is the standard McFarlane 7-inch figure system for all the good and bad (limited thigh swivels, limited elbow range), but surprisingly, both figures have better-than-average range of motion.Atomic Skull is a D-lister but this figure makes him interesting enough to face off against the last son of Krypton. Reusing a few parts of the Power Suit Lex Luthor figure, not-Ghost Rider's new parts, translucent elements, shiny purple paint, and big purple energy wave stand make this set a lot more fun than expected. The wave is designed to look good from one side while the other is hollowed out, but it's translucent so it won't look too bad if you gotta switch sides. The set comes closed-boxed which is a little surprising given a number of recent DC Multiverse 2-packs in window boxes.

This is awesome
The first thing I want to talk about is the package, it's windowless. I know it's gonna annoy some people but personally I like it, it makes this exclusive feel fancy and the design is clean and smooth. The figures however are great, and also reuse. But what they did with these figures are amazing, Atomic Skull has great power effect hands and Superman has flight hands for some reason... anyway the base is a reuse from the white knight 2 pk but in purple, which is amazing since it looks really cool in purple. Speaking of purple Atomic Skulls armor is obviously from the Lex Luther figure but purple and with some adjustments, plus an amazing head sculpt. The Superman repaint is fabulous and pops. This pack is great and that's about it. If your a fan of Superman or Atomic Skull... or purple... than you'll love this I recommend

Cool two pack
I recently acquired both the Superman and Atomic Skull action figures, and I must say, they make an incredible pair for any collector or enthusiast.Let's start with Superman: This figure truly captures the essence of the Man of Steel. The sculpting is spot-on, showcasing Superman's iconic physique and costume details. The paintwork is clean and vibrant, bringing out the classic red and blue colors. The articulation allows for a wide range of poses, from flying stances to powerful action poses. It's evident that the creators paid close attention to capturing Superman's heroic presence. Now, on to Atomic Skull: This figure is a standout character choice and complements Superman perfectly. The level of detail in the sculpt, especially the fiery skull and translucent energy effects, is truly impressive. The figure has a menacing presence that radiates power, making it a captivating addition to any display. The articulation, while slightly more limited due to the design, still allows for some dynamic poses, showcasing Atomic Skull's destructive potential.Together, these figures create an engaging visual narrative. The size and scale are well-matched, allowing for dynamic face-offs or cooperative displays. It's clear that both figures were designed with care and respect for the source material. My only minor gripe is that Atomic Skull's accessories could have been a bit more diverse, but this is a minor quibble in the grand scheme. In conclusion, the Superman and Atomic Skull action figures are a fantastic addition to any collection. Their high-quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and dynamic poses make them standouts in the world of action figures. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a casual collector, these figures are sure to impress and provide hours of enjoyment. Highly recommended!

Best Superman I could find!
McFarlane hasn't been doing too well with their Superman figures, they tend to look a little wonky (see the Superman and Ultraman 2 pack), but this one is actually pretty damn good. I'll probably still switch out the head with a custom one, but I am happy with this Superman straight out of the box. His body proportions are good, articulation is great, and the head is a solid Superman head.Atomic Skull is AWESOME, he comes with transparent hands that blend with the base that both figures stand on, and the detail and articulation on the figure is just as good.

Just Missed Being Best Superman
Great figure all around, a cape that just hangs, slim sculpted body 60's comic look, except in my view, just missed on three items. The chest S logo, thank god is not the shiny one, but is too large.Cape, missing the S logo and is just a touch too long.Fortunately both of those are easy to correct. As for the Atomic Skull figure, I'm not familiar with the character, but the figure is nice and worth the price.Cheers!

Cool ‘Man of Steel’ Supes figure with an awesome looking villain
Love the set. Superman is basically a repaint of the 1000 Action Comics version, but better in my opinion. The box came torn a bit though.
