This is one terrific TV
We purchased this tv for a guest room, looking for a 32 inch model with built-in Amazon Fire functionality, 1080p resolution, a decent remote, and a reasonable price. This one seemed to check all the boxes. The tv arrived in one day, well-packaged and in perfect condition. Set-up was very simple. The picture quality is fantastic, with bright colors and excellent contrast. The sound quality is good, much better than we were expecting from a small tv, definitely good enough for the room we put it in. In fact, we don’t plan to add a sound bar at all. It was simple to install the apps we use on our main tv. We are totally satisfied with our purchase…it met or exceeded all of our needs and the price was great.

Solid TV for a good price
The Fire TV functionality is fantastic, and is super easy to set up (it comes pre-provisioned if you have an Amazon account). Most of the apps we actually use. Has two HDMI ports making it easy to connect laptops, phones, etc. AirPlay works perfectly out of the box. Picture and sound quality are what you’d expect for the price, and is not the main reason we bought this tv. It’s very lightweight and easy to move and mount. We were looking for a quick and easy screen to AirPlay to, watch Netflix, and connect laptops to for fitness programs and what not. For the price it’s a solid unit. I remember when similar devices sold at Costco for 10x the price not too long ago. Can’t go wrong with this one. Oh and I agree with others, the remote actually makes sense and is easy to use

LOVE this TV!
I just got done setting it up and I'm loving this TV.I bought and returned 2 different tvs from a store because both were disappointing and not what I was looking for. I decided I wanted a Fire TV, so I bought this one. After setting it up and watching a few minutes of several channels, I knew that I would be fully satisfied with my purchase. I only had to download 1 app, because this TV had all the other apps that I use frequently. I love that I can search for apps and download them, since this option was at the top of my list of "must have."I also attached my antenna and this TV found 15+ more channels than my old TV had! I love that I can either watch antenna TV or Fire TV for free. So much to watch, so little time. The visual picture is pretty amazing and worth the extra cost for higher quality viewing.Another thing that I absolutely needed was for the TV is to start on the app screen and not a TV channel. This TV does exactly that. I watch more apps than I do live TV. I usually only watch live TV during Severe Weather season.Buy this TV if these are what you are looking for as well. You won't be disappointed!

Very Nice Picture! Internal Storage Space is DIsappointing
I just received the new 40" TCL Fire Edition HDTV. I was excited to hear that TCL was starting to make Fire Edition TVs!I have other branded Fire Edition TVs (Toshiba and Insignia) ranging from 24" up to 43". Also ranging from 720HD up to 4K (please note that this particular TV is 1080P).Pros:1. Fire OS of course! Like the other branded Fire Edition TVs, you have the ability to activate the "Developer Mode" by selecting the "TV" in the "My Fire TV" in the settings.2. You can install certain apps that are not organic to the Amazon App Ecosystem by downloading and using the "Downloader" App.3. You can also, like the other branded Fire Edition TVs, connect a USB Flashdrive and use it for expanded app storage (albeit that this is mostly applicable to the app types identified in Pro 2. listed above.4. Picture Quality is very good for being 1080P. Also, the bezel is remarkably small, leaving little wasted screen space!Cons:1. In stark contrast to the other brands of Fire Edition TVs this size, there appears to be only 8GB internal storage for apps. Other editions of this size TV normally have at least 12GB of internal storage, This means that the number of apps (future OS and App updates will quickly eat up this internal storage.2. Sound. This is the most common deficiency in Flat Screen TVs, small speakers. But the sound quality of this TV is not that bad. Like most all users, the addition of a sound bar or connection to Bluetooth Headphones or Speakers will do the trick!I'm using this as a "Tripod TV" (TV mounted on tripod to use outside during cookouts and sporting events, so it serves the purpose well. Especially for only $160 plus tax!I hope this review is helpful with answering questions that you may not be able to find elsewhere.Any updates to Pros and Cons will be submitted as they become know.

Don’t just walk away from this product. R U N!
I’ve always enjoyed tcl products I’ve purchased in the past but I Hate this with the fire of a thousand suns. The picture quality is fine especially for a bedroom tv and it’s nice and lightweight but that’s literally the only good things to say about this disaster of technology. Half the time you turn it on you get NO SOUND so you spend 10 minutes trying to see if it’s accidentally been muted or the volumes is just off then you turn it off and on seeing if that solves a problem before you realize you’re going to have to get up and unplug it. The software is sluggish on a good day downright immobile the rest of the time. It seems geared to sell you things, lots of loud video ads on the homepage and for some reason, mine seem to be more in Spanish. It only tracks some of the shows you’re watching on your apps not all of them. If you try to go to the show from the home screen then you can’t get back to reading any information about it or checking other episodes etc. it’s NOT USER FRIENDLY. I wish I lived in a three-story house so I could really enjoy the shattering sound of the being thrown off the roof because by the time I’d used it enough to notice these things it was too late to return it. Every time I look at it it just pisses me off. I’ve used smoke signals that were more reliable than this! 10 out of ten DO NOT RECOMMEND!
