Don't get cross with the slide
Something for the hobbyist. Reasonable accuracy once all the moving parts have been lightly oiled. The presentation box shows the compound slide attached to a Katsu drill, so the attached photographs show the same. The slots needed easing out on one side to align with the drill slots. Not a difficult job with a Dremel and Permagrit attachment. I used coach bolts with large washer and wing nuts to secure the two parts together. The photographs show a typical attachment with a Dremel router bit making easy work on a piece of wood. For the price, it will serve me well on softwood, plywood and thin aluminium or brass while making model aircraft. You may need to wear a pair of lightweight gloves when using as the aluminium handles can leave a stain on the skin. I use the Warrior Nylon working glove

Put together by Patch the elf toy making machine
Same as most reviews, wasn't expecting too much for the price but.... this device is spoiled by small details that could easily have been sorted, locking nut does not lock and comes off, even with lubricant on the X axis it is stiff to turn, most parts seem good and solid but like I said it is let down big time with small issues, if your willing and able to spend some time modifying this device then its ok for small simple DIY tasks

Rubbish
This is to be avoided. The build quality is not good and the design even worse. The Y slider came adrift the first time I used it. The movement relies upon a self-locking nut as part of the all aluminium (!) mechanism. Sloppy and not even usable for simple tasks even assuming it hadn't fallen apart! You would be well advised to avoid this. Returned for refund.

Junk
When winding the slide, the nut on the end of the threaded shaft kept undoing itself so I had to keep putting it back together.I packed this up and returned it. It is cheaply made and not really a serious bit of kit.

multifunctional
Bought this to use as a bolt on accessory to use on my wood lathe to turn it into a metal working lathe mostly for non ferrous metals, took me an afternoon to lash it together using a fence post and some other bits, first tried it on a steel bolt worked a treat. Probably should have bought the more sturdier model but for now it will suffice. Would recommend this product if you wish to do the same, with a set of cutting tools from Amazon the whole project came to less than £100.

NOT A SERIOUS TOOL.
DISAPPOINTING PERFORMANCE, LEAD SCREW LOCK NUTS ARE NOT SECURE UNDER PRESSURE HAD TOMODIFY LOCK NUTS WITH SET SCREWS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE IN PRODUCTION.

great item to have
As a keen DIYer i want this item to do a lot of more accurate work , not used it yet but it looks as if it will do nicely, i think it is well worth the money i paid. I would have given it 5 stars but seeing as i have not used it yet, 4 will do
