PNSO Prehistoric Dinosaur Models: 35 Essien the Spinosaurus

The pose and the level of detail on this figure is absolutely stunning and for those who are still trying to make up their mind —mind you, it looks far lot better than those YouTube videos. PNSO is great at nailing technical accuracy and general aesthetic of its figure. I have so far ordered three PNSO figures and all three blew dang socks off me. RECOMMENDED.

So, I had made several attempts, through eBay, to purchase this and other PNSO products. Every last one of them never arrived and culminated in eBay having to refund me. I was despondent and had decided to not bother even though one Dino blogger pushed me to Amazon. I figured the worst that could happen was, once again, someone uses me for a quick cash grab and I have to go through another refund process. My Amazon vendor came through! As pleased as I was that the figure actually arrived, I was astounded at the size and accuracy of detail on this Ceratosaurus. I’ve got nothing else that comes close. The suggested skeletal structure, obvious muscle groups, scale, tooth and extremity details really bring this guy to life. The overall color scheme may differ from promo photos but I have no complaints. The final take away on the figures color scheme is the realistic way in which dust seems to have settled within the scale structure implying an animal traveling/stalking/chasing through a dry environment. Not certain about the bend in the tail-I was under the impression that theropod tails had some mobility but not certain about the degree of motion implied by this figure. Regardless, it gives the suggestion of a very action packed moment in this animals life. The stand is my only disappointment. And, man, it’s awful. I’ll be creating my own with appropriate dry surroundings and maybe some heat distressed vegetation. I would suggest going to YouTube and check out lauralegends or dinodragons review of this guy. I can not recommend this figure highly enough. They seem to be drying up or going up in pricing. Definitely shop around for the best price but be wary of huckster vendors on eBay.

Painting was alittle different than in the picture, but it is a great model. It also comes with a poster which is cool

I've heard great things but never had a chance to get a PNSO dinosaur before now. I was not disappointed! the model arrives very well-cushioned in foam in a nice box. it's big! the box is a little longer than the dino itself, so like two feet long or something. inside there is also a very nice glossy poster of the model and a booklet explaining about the artist's process and the dinosaur itself, all written as if the dinosaur itself were telling you, which is super cute and unique. be careful not to lose the booklet and poster; they're quite special. the dinosaur itself is quite heavy and substantial solid vinyl, with an incredibly detailed mold. the skin has realistic folds and scale patterns; even the soles of the feet have texture. the paint job is also excellent: the tail has a greenish gradient towards the end, there are black stripes superimposed on the well-gradated base skintone, and the face, especially, is immaculate, with cute little teeth and shiny eyes. the dino has really interesting feet; I would have liked the booklet to talk more about that, as I've never seen a sauropod with feet like this. also, it has a visible cloaca, which the immature side of me finds very funny. it has a copyright stamped on its belly but not the name of the dinosaur; I do wish it did, just in case the booklet were to get lost. this model is definitely sturdy enough to stand up to play but I wouldn't give a model as nice (and expensive) as this to a small child; I'd wait til the kid was old enough to treat their toys well. PNSO lives up to its reputation for lifelike, realistic, high-quality dinosaur models and I'm glad to finally have one in my collection!

Some companies seem to skimp and cut corners with sauropods because of the size, but this is a fantastic model. It's very well painted even down to the tiny little teeth. The only thing to watch out for is that it is a bit front heavy. It has a metal peg in the stand but it doesn't take much to knock it over. Very highly recommended.
