When a hunter has found their favorite game to hunt, they tend to spend a little extra on the gear, ammunitions, and maintenance equipment and products for their guns and the sport. It’s also important to me to buy products made only in America. And better yet, if I can find a local product I love to check them out as well, too. I heard about Sage & Braker through some other pheasant hunting fanatics. Once I got my hands on their CLP, they’ve been my go-to company of choice for gun cleaning products. When I found out they had 6-inch, super-strong cleaning swabs, I jumped on Amazon straight away and bought some. I always have a tough time cleaning the choke threads with wimpy Q-tips. Gun rags are about the only thing I can’t see spending money on, when I can easily cut up an old T-shirt or some old, holey whitey tighties. This year my 12-gauge Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon took a swim in the pheasant finale during a wet-snow blizzard near Sedgwick, Colorado. My end of the season gun cleaning plan was to slathered it with some bore cleaner down both barrels and coated on the outside in CLP. Once I got that mess brushed out and wiped up, I put the gun aside while I waited for one final tool I needed. As soon as I got my Sage & Braker Firearm Cleaning Swabs from Amazon, I turned my attention to the break-open action, trigger pins, rails, and choke threads. I used a general amount of CLP on all the internal components and worked it in with the swabs. I found four swabs and just a couple of pre-made patches got the rest of my shotgun quality clean and ready for the next adventure.

I sometimes borrow cleaning swabs from friends and brother-in-laws when we are cleaning after a good ‘ol session of stress relief. But I always feel my stress creep back up when I struggle with cleaning swabs because all too often the cleaning tip starts to pull apart and leave little fibers in the hard to reach corner I am trying to clean. That is the opposite of what I am trying to do! But with these Sage & Braker cleaning swabs, I have not had the same experience. These swabs are so durable that even when they are black with residue from all the hard to reach spots, they are still intact, and my firearm is fiber free.Sage & Braker has earned my trust with their Bore Cleaning Kits (I have one for each caliber I own) and their CLP product. I was so excited to give these swabs a try because I figured they would be of the same quality as all their other products. In my opinion, I was right.I owe some cleaning swabs to some good people and I think they are going to be impressed with the quality of these Sage & Braker Cleaning Swabs…and if you try them yourself, I think you will be impressed too.

Another fine quality gun cleaning item from Sage & Braker! I thought ALL cotton swabs were the same, apparently not. When I first received the cotton swabs, I was taken aback at the nostalgic container that held the 100 or so cotton swabs. The second and most important think I noticed immediately upon using the swabs were their size. I was used to the common three inch plastic cotton swab everyone uses to clean their guns. These were six inches! They made it a whole lot easier to reach into those hard to get places and loosen up and wipe up dirt, grit, and grime. Why didn't anyone lengthen swabs before? Another feature I noticed as well, was the way the cotton swab held together and didn't start to fall apart and leave strands of loose cotton strands in the areas I was cleaning. These S&B cotton swabs are sturdy too. Not one broke while I was using them to clean. Combined with Sage & Braker's ultra tough cleaning solution CLP and their signature bore snake cleaning kit, cleaning is well a whole helluva lot easier. This is definitely an item that needs to be added to all gun enthusiasts gun cleaning kits.

Packaging is really nice and it looks like a quality product. I counted the swabs as soon as I opened it and only received 98 swabs rather than the 100 count it is supposed to come with. Not a big deal but for $18 cotton swabs I would expect to have the full amount. On the other hand I also ordered the pipe cleaners from sage and braker and counted them. I received 103 pipe cleaners rather than the 100 count so I guess that kinda makes up for the missing swabs. Product deserves five stars but the price is a little high especially for not receiving the correct amount each product is labeled with.

I clean my guns after every session that I have with my guns ! These swabs are a very handy tool that I use to do some hard to reach cleaning but also to re-apply oil to mainly the slides and some very light oil inside the mag well. The long stick really helps with a few hard to reach places that I only do from time to time. I really love the tube that they come in as well as the graphics to let you know what it is used for. You just cant go wrong with this product. Thanks Guys and Girls at Sage @ Braker !!

Another great product by Sage and Braker that is made in the USA. I've always just used regular old q-tips, but after picking up a package of these, I don't think I'll ever go back. The long sturdy reach of these makes it more convenient and efficient to get into the hard to reach spots. The packaging is is excellent and makes for convenient storage in my gun cleaning kit.It's obvious that the folks over at Sage and Braker are serious about quality products. I have their CLP product as well and am extremely pleased with it. Would buy both again.

Great product from start to finish. Finally happy I don't have to use Q-tips anymore to clean my weapon's little pieces. I always hated how the pharmacy cotton swabs left little bits of cotton hair to catch burnt powder and dirt. The tight swab on these don't do that, plus the hard stick helps when bearing down on stubborn spots. When I've spent the cotton part, I also found it nice to break them off and use the wooden part as a pick to remove debris. As an added bonus, the packaging is great for relabeling and storing all sorts of things. These little guys are definitely a must have.
