First impressions: box much larger and heavier than I expected. Item was very easy to assemble, and the packaging inside was minimal with cardboard inserts (easier to recycle). I’ve compiled a list of pros and cons on how I found the use.Pros:* powerful suction* turns from an upright vacuum into a cylinder vacuum which is easier to use on stairs and in closets. Etc* clicks apart so easy with no effort needed (buttons release the tubing, the dust chamber, etc) - you don’t need strength to pull them apart.* massive wire (if I plug this in in my hall, I can do entire house without needing to unplug it which saves me lots of time and extra work).* upholstery/fabric tool with spinning brush obliterates cat hair and fluff from bedding, couches and pillows in seconds with no effort (one of the reasons I was attracted to this model - if you’ve got allergies and pet hair issues you’ll love it).* gets most stuff on first pass - seems to take less time to vacuum* head turns making it a bit easier to turn corners and get under tables.* tool for corners and crannies has a brush you just slide down and click into place rather than needing multiple tools.* unbelievably good on old dusty looking carpets. My carpets looked like they’d been professionally cleaned (and these were carpets that were hoovered every day).* actually lifts and pulls on the pile of carpets - I noticed this on an older very flattened carpet that the pile was starting to come up (which means cleaning is definitely more effective)* light on vacuum head makes it easy to see where the dust and dirt is and means you aren’t having to switch lights on just to see where you need to vacuum,* brilliant on stairs (made mine look like new carpet)* easy to empty* switches for changing floor settings and suction are quick to access* noticeable difference in my allergies during and after vacuuming.* Stands up on its own and isn’t easily knocked over.* straightening the vacuum up turns the carpet setting off immediately so if you leave it running for a min, your carpet isn’t damaged.* moderately loud but not ear splitting or deafening - it’s quieter than smaller models with less suction I’ve used.Cons:* quite heavy and cumbersome - heavier than anticipated, and even when using the dust chamber detached, it’s still quite heavy* a bit awkward to move around with (partially the wire it’s quite high up on the vacuum so I find myself getting a bit tangled at time - also a bit awkward in tight spaces)* not ideal for disabled people or people with Serious back complaints* the hose is a bit too stiff and doesn’t stretch out much - it could have done with an extension for extra reach and flexibility. To reach some of my ceilings I had to lift the dust chamber up into the air because the reach felt so poor.* when detached from the head, the dust chamber is a bit wonky sitting on the floor and has a habit of tipping over, meaning you kind of have to keep a hold of it.* kind of misses chunks of stuff (in my case, cat litter, and often I have to lift the head up a bit to get the cat litter under it - I think front of head is too low to ground and is pushing items away rather than sucking them up).* while it does stairs well, it’s not easy to use on stairs as the head is quite big and cumbersome* misses corners and the sections right next to walls so you definitely need to use the attachment to get them* the wire gets in the way a lot due to the way it sticks outThese are just my initial impressions. Is it worth what I paid? Absolutely! It cleans like nothing I’ve ever had before! I love it.It does have its faults - it’s easy to use but very cumbersome and awkward at times and that takes getting used to - but I can definitely feel and see improvement in my environment and allergies.I recommend it but definitely not if you have a bad back or weak arms or have some disability which limits mobility.

Fantastic!Having read the reviews after being thoroughly fed up with my very expensive, very poor Dyson, I decided to give this a go. Dead easy to assemble, a touch on the heavy side but I am rather short to be fair, I'm sure a taller than 5'1 person could lift it with ease. The detachable bit for the stairs is amazing, easy to carry and move around, loads of clever buttons that are all clearly marked and very satisfying to click, a proper clunk if you will, so you know it's pressed. The first time I used it, I noticed the carpet pile was lifting and not looking all flattened like it has been. I decided to do a proper test and vacuum with said stupid Dyson before I used this bad boy, just to see what it would pick up....the picture is of what it picked up on one go around my living room. Feeling slightly queasy and gross, I did the rest of the house. The tools fit on the base of the vacuum so you can swap quickly, I gave everywhere a proper clean and ended up emptying it 4 times from what it picked up...I'm a clean person and vacuum at least 4 times a week, I have 2 dogs who shed like they'll soon get charged for it and a teenager who is, well, a teenager. This is the absolute business though. The price goes nowhere near reflecting the performance, I would expect this to cost far more than my Dyson pet vacuum did as it out-performs it by miles and miles. Please don't judge my dust, the house is spotless now!

Product arrived on time, superb 1 day delivery with no cost.Was a bit dubious ordering The Shark as I’ve had a Dyson for the past 9 years and have loved it so to change to another brand was a difficult decision.Thoroughly researched and read the reviews on The Shark and took the chance.The Shark arrived boxed, so easy to assembly even I could do it! So plugged it in and ready to go....it is AMAZING! I honestly thought that my carpets were clean (people laugh at me as I do Hoover every day)!The suction on it is incredible and what it picked up OMG I was shocked! So easy to use, fabulous that there’s a light, various suction control and such an easy to use switch to go from carpet to hard floor, the Shark lifts the pile on the carpet leaving it looking like new. I can honestly say this is far better than the Dyson, something I never thought I would say. The only negative criticism I have is that it is heavy but I’ll get used to it.I know it’s difficult when you read reviews and you wonder if what they say are true but I can honestly say that I DID buy it, tried it, absolutely LOVE IT and do not regret my decision at all.Happy Cleaning!

Have left this for nine months before leaving a review. It's been in use solidly for 9 months. I have a busy house with 4 adults, 2 children, 1 hairy Springer spaniel,2 cats and a chinchilla, so it's used daily.Brought it to replace my Henry. I was getting frustrated with because it gets caught on every door frame and item of furniture. I have a mix of carpet and wooden flooring.Pros.This vacuum has terrific suction. Hairs do not seem to get stuck on the brushes too much. I do regularly pull off what is there according to the user manual. ( about once a month for me) The bristles down carpet setting is so easy to set. A thumb slide on the handle. Picks up very well off carpet. The hard floor setting picks up hair and dirty very well too, but not any large crumbs. To release the pipe / nozzle to pick them up is, is super easy, one button ontop of the main body detached it. My parents have a Vax Vacuum, to release the nozzle it attached to the head and very fiddly to bend over and do. The amount of dirt this picks up us tremendous. Very easy to empty. I clean the filters as recommended in the user manual every couple of months, should probably be done more though. The lights on the front I thought were probably a gimmick are actually amazing. They show up everything so I end up with a thorough clean.Cons. The reason why I dropped 1 star. A bit of a design fault. The pipe / nozzle could really do with being longer and a lot more stretchy. The body of the vacuum that you can detach so you can reach higher areas/ for the stairs/ furniture is quite heavy. But if you dont carry it, due to the shortness/ inflexibility of the pipe it is not long enough to leave it on the floor. And I mean short distances like my sofa. Re the wooden floors, after a bit of use, the head seems to now scratch the wooden floor. You can hear it dragging as you push it. I think it's due to the two small wheels either side of the head. Over a period of time, they get clogged up with hair and do not turn. It's the only part that does not come apart to clean. I've resolved it by sticking a thin felt pad to them. As they no longer turn it doesnt matter.The carpet setting stopped working. As I had activated the 2yr guarantee, I phoned the number and spoke to a "Shark Ninja"! After going through a check list, it was established the connections in the handle had stopped working. They posted a replacement which amazingly arrived the next day. I've yet to find out if this is a design fault and frequently happens, it costs £19.99 to replace if not guaranteed. I've told everyone to make sure they do not pick the vacuum up using the handle on the pole and use the one ontop of the body. All in, Still much better than my Henry.

We recently bought this vacuum cleaner to replace our 1 year old Dyson DC40 which had broken (the upright hold had failed) and had struggled to hold up to it's big name potential. Whilst the Shark NV681UKT is similar in price it so far has outstripped the Dyson in cleaning capability, flexibility and usability.Shark NV681UKT Powered Lift-Away Vacuum Cleaner, TruePet Model, BordeauxCleaning Capability:Whilst it is accepted that a new vacuum cleaner will generally perform better than an old vacuum (clean airways for best suction etc.) we were no less amazed at the level of dirt and fibre the Shark pulled from our carpets. We have two Cocker Spaniels, two children and vacuum daily but, as you can see from the picture linked to this review, the Shark was able to pick up a lot of extra fibrous matter. This was particularly the case for a thick rug we have in the Living Room.The NV681UKT comes with specific Pet Filters (which can be replaced) as well as a small powered attachment for stairs cleaning and a direct cleaning head for tiled/wooden floors.Flexibility:The Shark NV681UKT has a feature that it calls 'Powered Lift-Away'. Essentially you can take the vacuum body away from the main head structure and carry it with you to use on the stairs, cleaning the inside of a car or in other awkward to reach places. Whether it is my lack of experience with vacuum cleaners or not however I have not seen one with lights on the front - what a great idea! The lights are bright and spread a good pool of illumination in front. As an example of use, the downstairs bathroom in our house is only small and now there is no need to activate the room light/auto-fan combo to vacuum for 30 seconds as the Shark provides sufficient light.Usability:The Shark is much like other vacuum cleaners in terms of usability. It is quite a bit bulkier than our previous Dyson DC40 but about the same weight. It's odd because in use the Shark feels heavier than the Dyson however that is presumably the increased suck/pull making it harder to move rather than a significant increase in the weight. In 'Lift-Away' mode the vacuum is light and easy to use with the hose. The capacity of the vacuum cleaner is not huge, but neither is it small and emptying presents no great difficulty, mess or faff thankfully.Cables are obviously the bane of a corded vacuum cleaner however the clip that holds the cable away from the ground is not particularly strong and will more often than not release the cord. It's not the end of the world to hold the cable clear but it’s still a shame.Positive Points:* Great cleaning ability* Unique Design and Flexibility* Suited to houses with pets* Range of attachments for different surfaces* Lights!Negative Points:* The weak cable clip is a bit of a pain* Smaller capacity / more frequent emptyingIt's a struggle to get overly excited about a vacuum cleaner however in comparison to other cleaners we have used in the past it is clear that Shark have put a lot of thought into the NV681UKT. The Lift-Away function and the lights make for an easier job of keeping the house clean and the price is less than other notable brands for which the Shark outstrips in performance. We are very pleased with our purchase.I will update this review over the coming months to give my thoughts after an extended period of use but a great first impression.Highly recommended.

I’d read a lot of reviews on this product before buying as I wanted to be sure it was the right thing for us. Saw some people complaining that the lift-away unit falls over when it’s stood on the stairs (you’re supposed to hold it), or that it’s really heavy (it’s not - check the information before buying if you feel you want a lightweight product), or that the cord isn’t long enough. So far not encountered any problems! Had been using a refurbished dyson for 3 years thinking it was cleaning our carpets fairly well, how wrong we were! This vacuum is far superior, it now looks like we have a new carpet. The amount of dirt and dust that came up the first few times cleaning was rather gross! Good to know we now do have clean carpets! Opted for the pet add on as although we don’t currently have pets, we have a curved staircase and the tool is brilliant for doing the stairs instead of using the normal floor head. Find the vac easy to use and love the lift away feature for doing the skirting boards, stairs, under furniture etc. So far would definitely say it is worth the money. The cord is plenty long enough to do downstairs and the stairway, and then plug in again upstairs, admittedly we live in a modern terrace so we haven’t got loads of space but even still the cord should be long enough for most without unplugging numerous times. Only niggle would be that it doesn’t retract and you have you wrap it up but this isn’t a major issue. Although there are better rated machines on Which? And another websites, I feel this is brilliant value for money and is making cleaning almost enjoyable.

Over the years I have gone through 4 Dyson upright vacuums. Our last buy, a Roller Ball Animal was a real disappointment, over priced, poor performance and cheap plastic build. It was clear that Dyson was no longer what it once was in the world of vacuums.Keen to look for something else I researched options and based on glowing owner reviews decided to go for a Shark Powered Lift Away. To say I’m ecstatic would be an understatement. This thing is a beast! We have two dogs and a cat and it managed to revive our carpet in a way I would not have thought possible. The amount of sheer dust it picked up along with hair was truly shocking. Our previous vacuum was clearly worse than I thought.Assembly is quick and pretty self explanatory. I love the lift away feature for stairs and the headlights are not at all a gimmick, but great at highlighting bits you’ve missed and lighting up under furniture. The dust capacity is on the small side and the lead not as long as what I’m used to, but these are minor points I’m prepared to overlook due to its brilliance. It works really well on all surfaces and the three tools it comes with cover all needs.I felt as though I was taking a risk buying this but I’m so glad I did. Superior performance at half the price of a Dyson.

I have owned Hoover, Dysons, Henry and now this Shark. I have only had this for a week or so but it's excellent.I have sort of listed the positives and benefits below:-1 - The Brush head can be accessed and extracted from the top. This allows any trapped hair and wrapped up fluff etc to be removed easily.2 - there are lights at front of body at ground level. Really helps when cleaning under items.3 - East to clean filters.4 - Detachable body for doing stairs and under the beds which I found immensely useful as pulls up fluff etc. My daughter suffers from asthma so this extracts more than the usual hoover as it folds flat whilst you carry the motor and dirt collection unit.5 - Lots of attachments and hose variations you can use.6 - Very powerful suction.I was surprised how much extra dirt this was able to extract in my first run after I heavily hoovered using a Henry before this . The living room carpet pile looked like new and had a bounce with it again. Our bedroom rug felt plush and really soft under foot. My daughters room got almost a full container of dust and dirt that the other vacuum couldn't pick up, again brilliant for her asthma / ecthyma7 - Not too noisy, light enough weight, looks great but most importantly does a first rate cleaning job.8 - Has both carpet and hard floor options at a flick of a easily accessible switch. Hard floor use turns off the brushes.I bought one with an add on attachment for chairs and stairs - this is noisy as has a whistle noise as the motor uses a fan device to turn the brush.Can see this lasting years if basic cleaning and self maintenance is done regularly.

Je m'attendais à beaucoup plus que cela. C'est lourd à manœuvrer, la tête ne tourne pas bien, elle n'aspire même pas les mouches mortes! Cela fonctionne peut-être mieux sur un tapis mais certainement pas sur un sol dur. J'ai acheté Sebo Felix après Shark, et j'ai regretté d'avoir acheté Shark! J'aurais pu acheter 2 Sebo à la place!
