An interesting read.
Came across this book in bookbub. Having been on course of antibiotics I was needing to reset myself and had already begun planning what I was going to use.Previously having made sauerkraut, made kefir ,water and milk previously with good results, I thought this book would be worth reading.Well written, with humorous episodes, and an insight into so many fermentations and cultural ways, it became the only book I wanted to read this last few days.I hope his family is now well and his heart has found a new home.Off to get supplies, burp my sauerkraut and try the carrot and parsnip pickle.

Fascinating
One of the most genuinely interesting books I have read for a while. Has inspired me to start a few fermentation of my own and to appreciate the mighty microbe in a new light.

Interesting concept but dull prose
takes a long time to get going and it gets a bit boring after a few chapters - maybe there's better to come but I don't have the will to finish it...
