Multiple sensors make this stud finder different
This is the best stud finder that I have found. The multiple sensors and lights do not require calibration every time. The lights immediately indicate the maximum density spots are underneath the stud finder. This makes it much easier to use than any stud finder with a single sensor at any price.Seeing a section of wall all at once makes it much easier to detect a 2x4 stud. Typically, three lights indicate the left, middle, and right edges of the stud. You don't have to sweep the stud finder back and forth over the same area to determine which are false readings and which might be the real stud.Unusual situations are much easier with this stud finder. When scanning a stairway, I could quickly see where the floor joist was between floors. Indications that show less than a 1.5-inch width with 3 lights suggest there is no stud there.I tried several different stud finders. The single sensor stud finders have the same problem. Each needs to be calibrated on an empty spot on the wall every time you turn it on. More importantly, single sensor stud finders require sweeping of an area to find the studs. I ended up with a series of pencil marks everywhere where I may have found a stud.Other multiple sensor stud finders work well. 9 sensors work best for me. Too few means more sweeping. More sensor just adds cost with little extra value. Models with a level and a place to keep a pencil are also more expensive.

Great gadget
This wall stud finder is simple and effective. It accurately detects studs in walls, making hanging shelves or pictures much easier. Lightweight and easy to use, with a clear display. Perfect for DIY projects around the house, though not as advanced as some higher-end models.

I love this thing and it works as its suppose to
This thing works as one would expect. I recently completed a reno and purchased this to put up shelving and other things after the area was drywalled and painted. I used this a number of times and each time it found the stud easily and more importantly, I did not end up putting holes in my newly drywalled bathroom! I especially liked that it shows you where both ends of the stud are. (Width of the stud). I also appreciated the light changing and turning green (one light) once you hit the centre of the stud. You then can put your screw in the middle and you are golden. This is the first and likely only stud finder I will ever need. I am very happy with it and how accurate it is and how easy it is to use.
