Very solid basket
Really solid basket. After fiddling around and not being able to find a basket that performed how I expected I bought this one a while back and it has truly served me well. It's easy to clean and produces great shots granted that I have found the correct grind size. The capacity is acceptable and the price makes it a good value. Highly recommend!

Produces Lovely Espresso
This basket is excellent quality. I've had two of them for over a year. Dialing in espresso effectively is all about eliminating as many variables as possible. These baskets deliver that in spades. They're also super easy to clean and they fit in my portafilter perfectly.

Functgood. Brighter taste.
I just received my big bang Portafilter basket. In addition to a couple generic baskets, I also have IMS and the VST competition baskets. At this moment I am working through Lavazza Gran Barista beans. I would say they are somewhere between medium and dark roast, with some of the beans having a red like color and most of the beans being dark brown. I would consider my results in the “acceptable“ range. To be honest, I’m not sure what I’m going after, so experimenting to see what I like best. My equipment is a Baratza Sette 270 grinder and a Quickmill QM67 dual boiler espresso machine. Puck preparation starts with 16.5 g of beans for a 36 mL output. I prepare the grinds first with a WDT, followed by a leveler, then tampted until the puck is firm.Temperature is set for 196°F and the target brew time is greater than 20 seconds and no longer than 26 seconds. I would say that I am getting relative consistency from all three of my premium baskets. My impression of the output with the big bang basket is that the coffee tends to be a bit brighter than with the other two. While I am pretty consistent, I am surprised that the VST basket can be susceptible to a bit of channeling if I’m not careful in the preparation. The IMS and Big Bang don’t seem to have signs of that, though the IMS basket is convex, with the water encourage to flow to the center. Of course I’m going to have to do a lot more experimentation with different beans, grind size, temperature. But I think there is some potential with this basket that I would like to explore. I have a lot more to experiment with as the Big Bang basket is very new to me. And, as everybody’s equipment differs and there are so many variables, I would say that if you’re contemplating purchasing a different basket, you might want to put this one on your list.

Good basket
Works well. Does not have nano tech coating so puck does stick a little when knocking out.

Best Portofilter basket - The Big Bang - Competition grade
For a couple of bucks more, you can get an IMS Big Bang basket! Why is it better? It’s made by IMS, one of the best espresso basket makers (look it up on Wikipedia). The sides and bottom of the baskets are flat making them a tighter fit in your portofilter, the holes are uniform and cut even for a better flow. These are the real deal - competition grade. Every new espresso machine should come with an IMS Big Bang basket, old machines too!

Overpriced but does the job
No problem with this basket and my Meraki 2nd Generation espresso machine. Fits portafilter nice and tight and produces a good quality espresso shot. Definitely overpriced, but a quality product.

Precise and consistent
Very positive! I've used several baskets so far but this one has been impressive so far to say the least. I enjoy it and I don't think on going back to my other ones.

verybarista IMS Big Bang Precision Filter
Although I have not been able to use these as yet, I think that they will do a great job. Unfortunatley, they don't quite fit into my portafilter. They won't push down far enough for me to be able to lock the portafilter into the group head. My options are to either spend more money and obtain a bottomless compatible portafilter and gamble if it will work with my machine, try to return them as they are not cheap to buy or keep them on the basis that my current espresso machine may not last a long as perhaps I would like it to (speaking from experience, 12 months seems to be the dead line literally). I know that if I were to purchase a good semi-professional or professional machine these filters will fit, but I might have to store them for some time before that prospect comes into fluition. The filters themselves are of very good quality from the feel and look of them, but I can't really review the outcome of using them as I can't use them at this point in time.

Excellent basket
The IMS Big Bang 58mm basket has quickly become one of my favorite upgrades for espresso. What stands out most is its consistency - shot after shot, the extraction is even and predictable, which makes dialing in much easier and far less frustrating. The precision of the basket design really shows in the cup. I’ve noticed improved clarity in flavor, with balanced extractions and fewer channeling issues compared to standard baskets. It’s also a bit more forgiving, which is great whether you’re experimenting with new beans or just trying to get your morning coffee right without overthinking it. Build quality is excellent, as expected from IMS. The finish is clean, and it fits perfectly in a standard 58mm portafilter. Overall, it’s a simple upgrade that makes a noticeable difference - highly recommended for anyone looking to improve consistency and quality in their espresso.
