Hauntingly fresh take on horror genre
Title: "A Haunting Journey into the Unknown: A Spoiler-Free Review of the Movie"Graced with a captivating narrative, powerful performances, and chilling visuals, the film ventures into a realm of supernatural horror that has been seldom traversed in contemporary cinema. The premise will grip you from the very first frame - a party taking an unexpected, devastating turn sets the stage for a narrative filled with deep-seated family secrets, the struggle of adolescence, and the traumatizing impact of loss.Ari McCarthy as Cole and Sunny Johnson as Duckett effectively kick start the chilling and heart-wrenching journey with their dramatic and raw performances. But it is Sophie Wilde's portrayal of the grief-stricken Mia, coping with the loss of her mother (played by Alexandria Steffensen) while navigating her complex relationship with her father (Marcus Johnson), that stays with you.The interactions between Mia, her friend Jade (Alexandra Jensen), and her younger brother Riley (Joe Bird) set the tone of the story and contribute to the emotional depth and supernatural undertone of the plot. The devastating encounter with the injured kangaroo serves as a poignant metaphor for impending doom. The supernatural proceedings of the film reach a crescendo at the party, filled with eerie incidents and hair-raising moments. The "Talk to me" game and its consequential events instill a deep sense of dread that carries through for the rest of the film as the unknowing teenagers confront malevolent spirits.Supporting performances, including Miranda Otto as Sue, Chris Alosio as Joss, and others, add dimensions to the narrative and boost the overall tension of the film. The film masterfully combines supernatural occurrences with emotional intrigues, creating a chilling atmosphere.Though initially startling, the intent behind the peculiar occurrences including the horrifying possession of Daniel and nearly fatal incidents involving Riley provide a much-needed momentum to the proceedings. Mia's tumultuous journey, culminating in a startling realization about her mother's demise, leaves both her and the viewers in utter shock.Crafted creatively and presented meticulously, the movie seamlessly amalgamates supernatural themes with human drama, making it an exhilarating watch. It touches upon the often-unexplored territory of spiritual possession and adds a distinct flair to it. The shocking and heartrending developments tear you apart, leaving you anticipating what's going to happen next.In conclusion, the film is an eerily chilling and emotionally penetrating journey that validates the saying, 'truth is often stranger than fiction.' The intense performances and gripping narrative make this a must-watch—five stars for this haunting masterpiece.

Better than I thought it would be.
Wasn't expecting this movie to be that good. Just a time killer. It sucked me in right from the start. Good flick, good story and good actors.

Alarming With A Great Twist
Talk To Me is an A24 horror film starring Sophie Wilde (Mia) as a gal who, with her friends, inadvertently becomes addicted to conjuring spirits through an embalmed hand. Thinking it's nothing more than a bit of fun to enjoy at a party, Mia gets sucked into a truly sinister supernatural world. This film takes advantage of family, friendships and trust to take the watcher on a wild ride, making sure one never feels truly certain what's safe and what's part of the ruse of the darker forces. While there is a bit of symbolism, the film never gets so complicated the horror becomes confusing - it's a true scarefest! The imagery will rattle, there are plenty of jumpscares and the special effects are fresh and innovative.A24 does it again - this movie is unique, full of fresh storytelling and well worth a second watch.

My daughter ( teenager) and I like to watch scary movies together. This has been the best movie in a long time that we watched and would consider it scary. Graphic are amazing and story line is great. Pretty graphic for smaller children. We continue to watch this movie over and over and recommend to friends and family that enjoy scary movies.

Watched it at home via Prime, it was good -- Wished I saw it in theaters alone.
It's good....the film itself could be better written in terms of the plot; specifically, towards the end of the film, it felt rushed and left no valuable explanation as to the whole purpose of the hand concept except for it being scary. I love the whole team behind it, the acting was amazing and so realistic to the way people react to scary things with social media. I wish it dove into the horror concepts, it really falls under the idea of "main character saves the day because they ruined everything" and it was annoying to watch it all unfold. (As in, I wrote the script basically predictable storyline vibes).

Must-watch for horror fans who love their scares with emotional depth and originality.
Talk to Me” is a chilling, emotionally intense horror film that blends supernatural scares with raw human emotion. The embalmed hand ritual is a genius twist—creepy, unique, and deeply unsettling. What starts as a thrill-seeking game among friends quickly spirals into a dark and tragic descent, keeping you hooked the entire 1 hour and 34 minutes. The performances are strong and grounded, giving weight to the terror and emotional fallout. The pacing is tight, the atmosphere is thick with dread, and the cinematography (especially in HDR/UHD) is both beautiful and horrifying. It’s not just about jump scares—it’s about what happens after the spirits are invited in.With a 7.1 IMDb rating and an R rating for good reason, this movie earns its place among modern horror greats. It’s suspenseful, disturbing, and lingers long after the credits roll.
