Nightshade Revenge (Alex Rider Adventure)

A great teen adventure for all teens and readers of young adult books
I'm old now and still read this genre. This series is one of the best, if you are into teen spy books, like Alex Rider or the Jason Steed series, this is the series for you.I was so pleased when I found out they had released another adventure in this series, and it does not let you down.Great edge of the seat adventure with a twist at a high adrenaline pace. I would recommend you start off with Alex Rider Stormbreaker (Book 1) first and then read through the series. 5 stars.

Great book as always
Shorter than previous books, but still just as good. It was nice to see the adventure span multiple books, whereas usually each book is a separate occasion. Also good to see previous characters return. Would recommend entire series.

Hoping Alex Rider continues into his late teens.
We grew up with Alex Rider and I though this latest was as good as the many other adventures Alex has been on.We see a more mature forward looking Alex, and people around him have also changed and developed. My hope is we continue to see Alex take on challenges into his late teens. I'll for one be sad to see the series end.

Collection Item
I had to buy this as I have all the previous books in the Alex Rider series, brilliant storylines, a great read & well worth getting - but I would recommend buying the previous books as well as there is an underlying story that runs through all the books - you will not be disappointed.

Great books for 10+
My child has devoured this series. Reading each one several times. Real page turners. I'd recommend highly.(It's like a teenage James Bond type, spy book)

Another winner
I am sad this was the last book in the Alex Rider series. I have loved them all. Intelligent writing, riveting plots, engaging characters.

Hardcore fans are satisfied!
Mr Anthony Horowitz has certainly outdone himself with this one! What matters the most in this book is not the cutting edge technology (good to have, but not a must-have), but how the various character arcs develop and how thick the plot is (I didn't see this one coming!) Nightshade Revenge is a movie script through and through. The book has fixed the flaw of the previous book in terms of having slightly similar attack strategies (not for this one! And thank you Mr Horowitz for reading my previous review!) It has an impressive ensemble of characters. It has echoed back past missions since Stormbreaker. It's a book of betrayal, loyalty and friendship. It brings nostalgia, excitement, anxiety, relief and sadness. It brings terror ("What the - ?!"), tear and laughter (some of the jokes are really funny). It's also amusing that the event is supposed to have taken place over 2 years after Stormbreaker (2000), but the technology and world events are more than 23 years ahead! Of course, no one will read an Alex Rider book that's forever stuck in 2003. I picked up the first book when I was 14, same age as Alex. Now, 19 years have passed, but Alex is still forever young. Looking forward to more adventures of Alex Rider!

Does not disappoint!
I did not expect that putting a watch for the next Alex Rider book would result in an automatic purchase. Almost $11 was not in my budget. However, I will be reading this book over and over again so, I guess it's alright.I am the only one in my family who never smoked. To me it was a clear choice between a book and a cigarette. After all, have you ever heard of someone resmoking a cigarette?Alex Rider books are just as addictive for me. I hope they come out with the third season of Alex Rider shows. The first two are on Amazon for free.

Good book but no twists
To start out, I have always LOVED this series and have reread it multiple times over the years. I picked up Point Blanc when I was about ten years old and to this day it's still my favorite book of the series. Going into the release of this book, I was super excited and dying to read it. Maybe I got too excited, but I have to give this one 4 stars. It's more of a 3 star for me but I love the series so that bumped it up 😂 it didn't seem as exciting as the last books and was very predictable, and maybe that's why I didn't rate it higher? I don't know, it's like it was missing the extra umph. I would love for the series to continue into adulthood because I feel like we've all grown up with it. This did end in a way that it could continue, so I'm being hopeful! Just to summarize, I love the series and Anthony Horowitz as an author, and will continue to read his work, but this was definitely not my favorite book in the series.
