Hello...this diffuser material works great producing soft light and smooth surface reflections on shiny surfaces miles better than the fabric diffusers available. The quality of the material is sturdy and is pretty durable to creases and is wipe able clean with a damp cloth. Rolling the 'paper' back up is nice and smooth. The only point i must mention is that it can be a alittle tricky to cut, use sharp scissors or blades to do the cutting unlike me who's scissors wouldn't cut through melted butter. This LEE Filters 216 white diffuser roll comes rolled up in a handy storage box, is 80 microns thick, two feet wide (61cm), 25 feet long (7.62m) and is quite dimensionally stable. It has a matt surface on both sides and is made from polyester - you can wear the surface to a shine by accident but its opacity comes from the body of the plastic and not from the surface so shining the surface doesn't matter unless you are pointing a camera at it. Being plastic sheet, it is waterproof and polyester has a refractive index of 1.59 whereas water is only 1.33 and salt water doesn't even get as high as 1.5 so in addition to being water proof, splashes of sea water are not going to have much effect on its optical properties either. The 216 sheet is a diffuser and if you shine a laser at it, the beam is totally diffused - there is no spot of light that shines through it. This level of diffusion does come at a price (in terms of light) and using a photographic lamp, the light remaining on the subject's surface with the filter was reduced from 1388 lux down to 400 lux which is equivalent to roughly 1.8 stops - remember that this is scattering so with a physically larger lamp, or closer up, this reduction is going to be less. In the composite of photographs with the diffuser and without, the first one is of an LED RGBCW lamp without any diffuser; the second is with the LEE 216 close to the surface of the lamp which is all you need if you don't have any shiny surfaces; and finally, it is taped to the ends of the barn doors so that if you do have shiny surfaces, they will not reflect the LED matrix. Another thing that you can do with this sheet is to use it as a backdrop and illuminate it from behind so that you can have complex illumination/colouring configurations using multiple light sources and the hardware that you use to create it is all hidden by the sheet. This sheet is an excellent resource, whether you want to diffuse light or create novel backdrops.

Price is a little high, but to be expected for the brand, you do have a "brand tax" here, but it's one that's worth paying in my opinion. Recommended!

By trade, I do a lot of studio photography. This roll of diffusion gel really helps to soften the lighting and the shadows, creating some beautiful lighting on my subjects! Because it's on a roll, it's very easy just to measure the amount off the roll you'll need and cut. the gel is also multi-use, so one roll would actually last you a really long time if you take care of it! The price may be a bit high for the general consumer, but if you like quality products, LEE definitely does deliver.

This 25ft roll of 2ft wide diffusion gel is a handy addition to any studio. Good for softening lighting. It’s easy to cut to size and so could even be used in small pieces to cover speedlights. With a suitable frame it could even be used to create a diy light box.

This is wonderfully strong and consistent material that makes custom filters and diffusers so easy to make! I was really amazed at the basic quality and strength. Just perfect for softening hard LED lights or damping down larger lamps. Highly effective and remarkable quality.

Metto una stella N NON per il prodotto, ma per il pessimo servizio offerto. Ho ordinato questo articolo esattamente due volte, una volta circa 4/6 mesi fa e la seconda qualche giorno fa. In entrambe le occasioni gli articoli arrivati sono sbagliati. Ho ordinato due rotoli di diffusione bianco, e la prima volta sono arrivate due rotoli di gelatine magenta, la seconda un rotolo su due è una gelatina verde. Io mi chiedo chi e come gestiscono gli ordini, perché a me pare che prendano gli articoli dai magazzini con gli occhi bendati. Terribile servizio. Io prodotto in sé è fantastico, ma con questo servizio si rovina l'intera esperienza

Exactly 2 feet or 60.9cm wide. I bought this size due to its more cost efficient for my interest and applications. The defusing is lovely.
