The laptop I have has turned out to be very good. I’ve been using it for a while now and it honestly works excellently in everyday use. The battery lasts quite a long time, which helps me a lot when I use it outside the house or don’t have the charger with me. Overall, it seems to me like a very good price-to-quality option, since it meets my needs well without causing any problems. I’m quite satisfied with the purchase and would recommend it if you’re looking for something reliable and durable.

I purchased a Dell 3520 Win 11 Pro from a reseller "Like New". A few things folks might find helpful. 1. Dell sells a limited set of configurations (Memory, SSD, etc), so resellers open the laptop to "upgrade" memory, SSD to offer more choice in configurations. Of course, this begs the question what components are being installed. In my case the components were reasonable: 16GB Samsung DDR4 3200 memory and WD Green 1TB SSD, but its "reasonable" to check the delivered system. 2. Microsoft defaults to keeping a "remarkable" amount of information about your activities, like every app installed, every webpage viewed, etc., so I strongly suggest logging into your Microsoft account (account.microsoft.com) and turn on every privacy control they provide. Then clear the accumulated history and log into the account in a day or so and check if they stopped accumulating data. 3. Windows PRO provides S Mode which is a restrictive version of Windows (only M$ store apps, lighter weight process controls etc). This is mostly for PCs going to less than trusted employees. Turning off S Mode is a one-way trip, i.e. it cannot be reenabled (essentially forever). The system I receive had S Mode off. This is something I would have done anyway, but it's something to consider if you need S Mode for employee users. **Update: Still like the computer. However, users have reported the hinges for the top cover tend to break and I can confirm this. Since this was previously reported, I was fairly careful opening/closing the top cover, but the hinges still broke. A replacement cover runs about $25 on ebay if you dont mind dismantling the computer to replace the cover. I dont know the markup if you take it into a shop. There are various YouTube videos on how to take the computer apart.

⭐ 1 Star — Dell Laptop Failed Before One Year, Warranty Expired Early I’m extremely disappointed with both this Dell laptop and how this situation was handled. I purchased this laptop on August 10, 2025, and it was delivered on August 13, 2025, for my son to use for college. In July 2026, the number keys suddenly stopped working. Since he was home for summer break, we didn’t feel an immediate need to rush out and have it repaired. What I never expected was to discover that the Dell warranty had already expired on August 1, 2026—before we had even owned the laptop for a full year. Today, August 13, exactly one year after the laptop was delivered, I took it to an authorized Dell repair shop. I was quoted approximately $280 just to repair the number keys on a laptop that is barely a year old. For a computer that cost around $500, that is completely unacceptable. I contacted Amazon customer service tonight hoping they could help. To Amazon’s credit, they offered to accept the laptop as a return. Unfortunately, they said the refund could only be issued to the original form of payment. The laptop was purchased as a gift by my mother-in-law using a German bank debit card. She now lives in the United States in a nursing home, and that German bank account is no longer active. I explained the circumstances and asked whether Amazon could issue the refund as an Amazon gift card or account credit, especially since I would simply use the money to purchase another laptop from Amazon. I was extremely disappointed that they were unable to offer that solution. What makes this even more frustrating is that I’m a self-employed electrician and spend approximately $30,000 a year with Amazon purchasing tools, electrical supplies, equipment, household products, and other items. This is now the third major customer-service issue I’ve experienced with Amazon this year, and it has me seriously reconsidering where I spend my money. As for Dell, a laptop intended for a college student should last considerably longer than one year without requiring a $280 keyboard repair. Between the premature failure and a warranty that apparently expired before the first anniversary of delivery, I cannot recommend this laptop. After years of being a loyal Amazon customer, I’m seriously considering taking more of my business elsewhere, including eBay.

Tengan cuidado, porque la garantía de un año NO APLICA para México, dado que la computadora es mandada desde Canadá y Dell México NO SE HACE RESPONSABLE. La computadora se averió a los 7 meses de ser comprada, dejó de permitir cerrar la pantalla. Digamos que las bisagras dejaron de funcionar y a la semana siguiente se descompuso el mouse pad. Total, ya solo queda un cascarón porque nadie la quiere reparar por falta de piezas y la solución de Dell es que la mande con un pariente o alguien que viaje a Canada!
