A good introduction
There's a lot of detail in this DVD, as you'd expect with a running time of 2 hours and 20 minutes. You will likely find yourself coming back to it again and again. The most valuable thing to bring with you is patience, but that is more about the process of learning tai chi than any criticism of the content. The video is well-produced, with clear instruction.Something to be aware of is that the form shown requires more space to perform than you might think. If you are looking for something that can be performed in a smaller space, then "Simply Tai Chi" (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Simply-Tai-Chi-Book-Gift/dp/1741577799/) might be a better place to start. Whether that would deliver the same benefits is more open to question. Otherwise, finding a DVD on the Wu style of tai chi, which is performed with a smaller "frame", might enable practice to happen where space is more limited. The self-defence applications of the movements seem a little fanciful, if I'm being completely honest. If that's your focus, you are probably better served elsewhere anyway. My main reason for buying this was to improve general health, and it continues to serve that purpose well. It's for this reason that the DVD gets five stars.

More advanced that I realised.
This is a good DVD with a beautiful demonstration but it does not seem to me to be aimed at beginners which I had assumed to be the intended audience because of the adjective "simplified". I will move onto it at a later stage when I have learned the basics from Samuel Barnes, Scott Cole and Matthew Cohen who really do understand what it is like to be started out on Tai Chi or Qi Gong.

Simple explanation for a beginner to Tai chi easy to follow
The moves are shown slowly and repeated with explanation of how to stand and position yourself to attempt each move . The arms are done first then the footwork then she puts them together .There is a demonstration of how each move is used in martial arts which I found interesting . Well worth buying if your are a beginner wanting to do gentle exercise for health reasons I go to class as well but use this cd at home to practice the moves .

Difficult for beginners!
Difficult to follow as you need to remember that you have to move opposite arm and leg to instructor. Mirror image would be easier. Also there are times when you end up trying to look at the tv over your shoulder.

It is a great help for me as a beginner with no Tai ...
I am a total beginner at Tai Chi and am finding this DVD more than helpful. Thank you to Mrs. Helen Liang for having explained every step in detail, footwork and hands separate and then together, and not just once, but multiple times. It is a great help for me as a beginner with no Tai Chi classes anywhere near. May I add, Thai Chi is changing my life and I can recommend the daily practice of it to everyone out there.

Teaching style very poor.
Teacher is no doubt the best, but I found her instructions far too hard to follow - too fast mainly, and I need the actions to be broken down in order for me to add them together. She then will show the full action which I can't follow as I haven't learnt the smaller actions that make up the whole. And then she brings in another person who just confuses things.
