💨 Stay fresh, stay smart: The fan that knows when you need it most!
The Airflow iCON PRHTM is a plug-in humidity, motion sensor, and timer module designed for iCON 15, 30 & 60 fans. It features adjustable humidity activation between 40–90% RH, a passive infrared motion sensor for instant fan activation, and a customizable 2–45 minute run-on timer. Its OR logic function ensures the fan runs efficiently, activating when either motion or high humidity is detected and turning off only after both conditions cease and the timer expires.

Great module when you understand how to use the connections
I bought one of these alongside the actual iCON fan to replace an existing, failed Aitflow unit. As a drop-in replacement it works great. I also took this opportunity to switch to a humidity module. I can’t think of any cons other than that quieter units from other brands are available. The instructions weren’t exactly clear how you configure the module to run so I’ll add some notes here from my own googling. A key aspect not made explicitly clear in the instructions is that you do not have to connect the T (Live Trigger) terminal which comes from the light switch. It is very likely that existing and new installations will use 3 core cable which have colours: brown, grey and black. A good practice is to use those wires as follows putting a bit of electrician tape on it for future reference to state purpose:Module connections:L - Permanent Live - core brownN - Neutral - core grey (tape it blue)T - Live trigger - core black (tape it brown)If you don’t want to use a timer or humidity function, and just use the light switch, you can have core black going to L.If you don’t want to use the timer (which needs T) - don’t connect T. If you don’t want to use the pull cord I found it can be rolled-up and taped inside the unit. Note that the pull cord is electronic, not a mechanical switch, and is only used to turn the fan ON. Repeated pulling of it resets the timer to start again. If you turn the timer to its minimum setting, that was about 2 minutes in my test. I had no need for the pull cord as I have an isolation switch outside my bathroom which is easier to access. In the rare situation when you want to disable the fan - perhaps you are having a bath listening to music - that isolation switch can be used.I am using the module as humidity detection only and I have not changed the factory set dial. It comes-on three minutes into a shower. If you connect T you get the fan on with the lights every time but the humidity detector will keep it on until steam level drops. I don’t see the point of that mode myself. If you are pondering which module function to use - I would say that when using the toilet at night without turning on the fan, and potentially disturbing others, this is a really good feature of the humidity detector.

The solution if you've installed smart bulbs
I installed a smart bulb in my bathroom, which meant wiring the light switch to be permanently "on". This meant the extractor fan (an Icon 15) was permanently on as well. If you're looking at this product page for the same reason, then here's what you need to know...If you have a typical installation where the extractor fan has both a permanent live and a switched live from the lightswitch, then this replacement module will work fine and will fix the problem. You simply don't connect the switched live (so only the L and N connectors are used, and nothing is connected to the T connector). It will then come on very happily via the PIR when you enter the bathroom, and it will stay on until BOTH the timer has run out and the humidity drops below the set level.Obviously you should only be doing this yourself if you are competent, know how to make absolutely sure the power to the extractor fan is off (turning off the light switch is not enough!), and so on. But if you would be confident replacing a light switch or electrical socket, then you'll have no problems here. You just disconnect the wires, make the redundant switched live safe, swap the modules, and reconnect the remaining wires to the same positions. It's kinda expensive for what it is, but less expensive than replacing the whole extractor fan!

Absolutely essential for proper function of bathroom extractor fan.
Perfect! For about 7 years we have had an icon 15 in the main bathroom with no module, dependant on the main light being on (no timer/run-on). We often just use the mirror light and have been having problems with high humidity and condensation on the double glazing in the bathroom and nearby bedrooms.I purchased this module and fitted it into the existing unit with ease. I also replaced/rewired the extractor fan isolator switch with an ordinary dipole switch (decoupling the light circuit from the extractor fan so the fan is always ‘powered’).With the humidity sensor set just right, the fan is by default ‘off’. It automatically turns on when the humidity rises, and continues to run well after the bathroom is vacated until the humidity settles back to normal.Condensation issues have all but disappeared overnight.

Replace the fan rather than buying this.
Stopped working after a few weeks. Contacted the company who said it must be a faulty one contact Amazon and request a replacement. I contacted Amazon the day after the return window closed and they didnt replay. I have since been back and forward several times and getting nowhere. I am put of pocket and still dont have a working fan. I wish Id just replaced the whole fan rather than mess about trying to get this sorted.EDIT: I asked Airflow to replace the module and they have said they will only do it if I post the entire fan (which means I have to uninstall it leaving the wires exposed in the bathroom, which I dont want to do in a steamy bathroom even capped off correctly). All in all a dreadful experience that will mean I will lose my money paying for this not fit for purpose item because it failed and I contacted them a day or two, after the return window ended.EDIT: look at their Trustpilot reviews, this is the company with he website airflow.com. Im not alone in an awful experience.
