I've been looking for a hat to protect from the sun while fishing and working in the yard. This hat was not my first choice but definitely my best choice. I was initially concerned about the hat being too heavy or hot but I could not have been more wrong. The product description does not give this hat the justice it deserves. The hat is very light weight and extremely cool. With the wide brim I can finally have the protection for my nose and ears that I was seeking. Also, my head circumference is 23.5 inches and this hat fit perfectly. It does have a nice draw string if needed. I ordered another one today.

excellent fit, once you pull the elastic cord on the back of the head. Bought the same for my wife: the release button on the chin strap was defective (received replacement hat within 2 days). The only (small) downside: when you face straight into the wind (as you would on a bike ride, or on a motorboat), the back flap starts to flutter, and the annoying noise is right in your ears. You'll have to be creative to eliminate that irritating detail.

Works well to keep the sun from burning my face, ears and neck. I had to add some weight to the rear flap due to the high wind here in the high plains.

This is exactly what I expected and I really like it. What I wanted was something to keep the sun off my neck and ears, mostly while mowing and working in the yard. I have a big head, and the draw string makes adjusting head size simple. It's light weight. The big brim also keeps the sun mostly off my face, esp. my cheeks & nose. At this price, I am very pleased. The only thing is that the neck draw string is simply way too long. Unless it's really breezy, I just put on the hat with that cord down my back to keep it out of the way. Beyond that - it's great. Will likely get another and throw it in my truck so I don't forget it when I go fishing.

I've got a big mellon, and can never find a hat that fits properly without squeezing my scalp, even with my short hair cut. But FINALLY, I've got a hat with extra headroom. That extra headroom will be nice if I decide to let my hair grow out. Additionally, it's got an extra long brim that keeps the sun out of my eyes. I used it for two weeks out west hiking in the national parks when the temps were in the 100's and it was a life saver for me. I can't stand being in the sun, but this hat makes being in the sun bearable for me.

I just realized that I've had this hat for 5 years now and it's still in great shape so I figured I should leave a review. The drawstring is fine. The hat folds up easily for storage in my backpack. There's not much one can say about a hat but anything lasting over 5 years is well made.

Great coverage, just like the picture shows. Great hat for the sun! The only niggle is that they could improve the vent ports.
