Fox Run Marble Mortar and Pestle, White

Always wanted a mortar/pestle set and found one I really liked with color to match our kitchen. A nice heavy marble set that really works. The price for a one time purchase was reasonable considering the material is made from marble and is sturdy and weighted enough. I don't foresee any breakage happening from its use as its so easy to use in the hand and serves a functional purpose as a pill crusher and for raw dried spices for cooking. I'm very satisifed with this item.

very nice marble very stylish. heavy duty. i bought this to crush my dogs medicine up daily in works great and fast. easy clean up if i want to use for anything else. would recommend this and its not big so it doesn't take up a lot of space in my small kitchen. i wish i had a way to take a picture and put it on here i dont have a web cam.

The pestle fits snugly in the mortar, so it can only grind a very little bit at a time, but that's not necessarily bad. I bought it to crush pills, and it leaves a lot to be desired for that purpose, as the mortar surface has small, concentric rings, like teeny-tiny steps which can help grind seeds, but pills, not so much. The roughness on the bottom of the pestle and the interior of the mortar, although being a help in grabbing the material to be ground, also holds the ground-up powder, necessitating a stiff brush to get the powder off each surface. I guess that's more important if you're pulverizing pills than if you're grinding small seeds though. I will say that the handle part of the pestle is easy to hold on to, and it IS comfortable to use.

This is so nice and I use it to crush pills. Very well made and reasonable price.

I just got this perfect little mortar and pestle today and I absolutely love it. It's just the right size for grinding up pills.

Pretty heavy mortar and pestle set. This weight allows it to be stable while you grind. Do like it.Only negative is that the granite has natural cracks that have been filled with an epoxy. Not sure how well the epoxy will hold up over time. For now, it is working great.
