Timely
Informative, understandable, and entertaining. This book is a great way to start wrapping your brain around something that can overwhelm organized thinking. Sometimes I have to read things multiple times to grasp what the author is saying, but not here. Messages are very well structured and clearly communicated. I learned so many helpful facts. Loved it!

Excellent overview and logical organized
I thoroughly enjoyed this book And read it in one day. The layout is quite logical, and it answered all my questions. I've read many other articles and listened to many scientific podcasts on covid, but they all left me wanting to understand more. This book answered every question I had.

THIS book presents the facts about the pandemic.
Excellent resource regarding the COVID pandemic. The debunking of and revelations regarding the COVID deniers (Chpts. 6 and 7) are both eye-opening and frightening at the same time. The details regarding the economic largess realized by the mis-information cohort (especially RFK Jr.) should underscore the need to reject and call out the false information and products pushed by this group. Dr. Offit honestly and openly addresses the mistakes that were made while fighting the pandemic--but that is how science works--testing hypotheses and making course corrections if need be. He also points out that making decisions in the middle of pandemic are fraught with challenges regarding pursuit of the right course. The book is written in a lay-prose thus simplifying the details and making the scientific approaches understandable. If you need a resource to help you understand SARS-CoV-2 origins, the pandemic,mRNA vaccines, and the strategies behind the promotion of pseudoscience--then this is your book.

Excellent reading.
I believe anyone who has questions about Covid should read this book. It really is an eye opener to understand all aspects of medical science, diseases, vaccines and how they work, and to how Covid led us to more political separation and anti-vaxers. I feel everyone should read this book. I respect that this information comes from a doctor and a scientist, someone I can trust. I don't want to get any misinformation from these anti-vaxers and\or social media.

Straight Talk About Covid
This book has proven to be a comprehensive and informative read of the first order explaining in understandable detail the origin and subsequent spread of Covid into a global pandemic that subsequently went on to kill thousands, day in and day out, around the world. Dr. Offit explains what governments did right and what they did wrong, where the pharmaceutical industry made right moves and where it made fatal errors. He points fingers and identifies by name those leading players inside and outside of government and the relevant industries. What people who should have known better brought to the table, and what far out claims by pure fraudsters took root among the general public raising distrust in public institutions to unprecedented levels. If you are open to a straight-talking common sense approach to understanding the actual facts surrounding this dreaded virus, one that appears likely to be a part of the human story for decades or even centuries to come, then this is the Covid book for you. Offit explains where we’ve come from, where we are at, and what may be in store for us moving forward in our efforts to contain the virus and its variants.

A Much Needed Read For Those Who Support Vaccination
As a vaccinating community pharmacist, I found this book informative. I feel that I have been equipped with tools and facts to assist and inform the patients I serve. I highly recommend this read for any health care professional who wants to learn more about the COVID pandemic and what we can do to prepare for the next pandemic.

I learned a lot
I thought I had already read all about Covid-19, as a science nerd with an interest in health. But I still learned new, yet basic, things, such as a clearer understanding of why Covid vaccines seem to “fade” after time in a way that measles and polio vaccines don’t.

Short, but up to the high standards of Offit
As has become habitual, Paul Offit has clarified a complicated medical problem. There is enough science to satisfy the immunologist and educate other physicians, while maintaining an honest approach to the uncertainty and failure inherent in the scientific research. The current greatest challenge for any competent explainer of science is to gain the trust of a lay reader. I know of no-one who meets this challenge better than Dr. Offit.
