A very good selection of John Clare's Writings
I came across a poem by John Clare, which appealed to me and I bought the book because I knew little about him - I cannot explain how I had missed his works. The book is a good selection and I spent quite some time enjoying these writings.

Classic - literally
I love the Oxford Classics, so well edited and annotated. This is no exception. A great read.

Perfect pastoral poetry!
Wonderful poems/prose written as he walked the countryside commenting on everything - beautiful language, some dialect but glossary in back of book. I especially love his poems about birds and their nests.

No problem with the content but the quality of the print is abismal
Yes, all Clare's important and well loved poems are there. The typographical layout is fine though the typeface is a little on the small side, but the paper quality looks like the sort that will yellow badly in few years time and the quality of print is like what you used to find in newspapers a few decades ago. In other words it seems like the book has been printed on thin blotting paper. The content really deserves better; a larger typeface, thicker better quality paper and it would then be a fine publication if it were in decent hard covers. How about it Oxford?

Comprehensive guide to one of England's prolific poets.
My favoutrite poem of his "the dying child" and also "infants' graves" conspicuous by their absence.
