Excellent tool, expensive for what it is, would still buy again
I like this meter and use it every time before I go flying to check the voltages of battery packs to match them for parallel charging, and while flying to check how much juice is left after coming down. Works very well for cells from 2S to 8S. 1S works in principle, but you will likely need an adapter to plug your battery into the balance port AND another 2S+ battery to supply power to the unit then. For 2+S packs usage is super simple, just plug the balancing lead into the device and you will get cell voltages displayed almost instantly, very convenient, no need to bother with the XT-60 connector in this case.It can also balance cells and act as an USB power source for e.g. charging your cell phone. I have rarely used the balancing feature, as I always balance charge before flying and a healthy LiPo pack shouldn't be unbalanced after discharging it to 3.8 - 3.75 V (per cell resting) or so anyway. The display is easy to read inside and outside and the user interface is good via three buttons. But again, for its main function of checking cell voltages you won't have to press any of those.I think it is expensive for what it is, but if I lost this one I would get a new one, it's that convenient.

Great for field and balancing cells at storage
In the field you really only need to get a general reading of your cells. Showing you all cells at once is the only option for me and this does that. As for accuracy it is good enough for the field, and to balance the cells in the pack I would say it does a great job. When checked with a Fluke meter the accuracy is at +/- 0.01 or better, but typically consistent across all the cells. Love the color screen which is easy to see in bright daylight. Also nice option to be able to charge USB devices such as the DJI Goggles battery. When balancing cells it is consistent across the cells and does not get hot, although this does only discharge cells down to the lowest one so it works fine for storage mode, but probably not designed for evening out at 4.195 - 4.20 volts before using. It'll just waste energy you could use for your application.

Great battery checker and emergency charger
Pretty happy with the checker so far. I bought a couple of the cheap LED display ones, and decided it was time to upgrade. One of the best parts is that this reads up to the thousandth unit.Interesting enough the new ISD go program will not recognize the checker on a mac, will need windows to update firmware in the future. It looks like as of this time it ships with the most recent firmware installed. Also unlike their chargers you will have to supply alternative power to power the device for firmware updates (does not power on with the micro usb).I did find this was out of calibration in different directions on the different cells. Up to 0.04v using a fluke meter. The display is bright and with it calibrated quite informational. If you forget to charge your goggle batteries or camera or anything you can plug in one of your charged flight packs to use this as a USB charger which comes in surprisingly handy.

Accurate and easy to use. Color LCD is a plus!
Wanted another multi functional battery tester that was accurate and easy to use. This one fits the requirements nicely. The status display let's you know all the critical battery parameters on one screen. I use it before and after my flights. The display is clear and easy to see but the text could be a tad larger for us that need reading glasses. This will test batteries up to 8 cells which will be more than yiu ever need for current technology. Overall it's a good deal and recommend this unit to anyone dealing with Lipo batteries.

Fantastic piece of hardware.
We use 4 of these testers and they've all been very accurate, fast, and they are able to balance batteries *that are able to be balanced*. If your battery is shot or has a bad cell that can't go beyond X volts, this is no fault of the balancer. You have a bad battery. This little piece of hardware makes it quick and easy to check maximum cell variance in mV, overall charge percentage, and individual cell voltages as the first thing to display on the screen. We work with thousands of batteries, and these cell testers are great, and display the same information our expensive chargers do.The guy in the reviews with the Fluke doesn't know what he's doing, and it's easy to tell by his reported issues. You can buy an expensive name brand piece of equipment, but owning gucci gear won't make you an expert overnight, unfortunately. :)

buy a couple, you will use them
I wonder why I waited so long to get this bad little mama jama. It is super small and will fit anywhere, comes with a little lanyard so you can loop it to your bag and wont lose it. It will equalize cells in no time before charging and it is waaaay more accurate than anything I have used yet. It has a very feature rich menu and has way more features than most will use. I bought several since I can balance my batteries before I throw them on the charger boards and not worrry about having issues. Pretty much cheap insurance for the life of your packs. I now have 4 on my bench and 2 in my bag. Everyone uses mine because they know I have them. would make the perfect gift for any flier since it is very affordable and nobody would mind having more than one.

Surprisingly Good Battery Meter
I bought this battery meter on the recommendation of a popular YouTuber. This thing is every bit as good as he claims. It's color LCD readout is much easier to read than monochrome displays. It's very accurate, and gives information about all the cells (up to 8) simultaneously. It will also balance the cells. You can set it for four different lithium battery chemistries, set a low voltage alarm, and even use it to charge USB devices from your battery. One thing to know. You must download the User Manual from their web site. The web address is included in the leaflet included with it.
