The Way I Hate Him

Meghan Quinn delivers again!!
Hayes Farrow !!! OH MY GOD <3 This might be my favourite Meghan Quinn book and since Right Man, Right Time exists… that’s saying a lot! I loved every single second of reading this, it took maybe 30% for me to know this was the easiest 5 stars and a new favourite.I am the biggest sucker for age gap romances and this one hit every spot! Hayes is so attractive, in all ways not just physically, and him as a boyfriend!! He was also just so caring, attentive and sweet in their relationship too. A hot rockstar, yes please - but a sensitive, mature, hot rockstar, one thousand yes’s. Oh my god, it was getting hot reading this. The spice is off the charts and probably the best Meghan has written, I’m obsessed with these two. Sometimes the spicy scenes can be good but you still just want to get back to the story but here… no no no, I could’ve read many many more because I just loved them. This book hits heavier topics than some of Meghan’s other books and it only made the story better, deeper and more compelling. There is so much depth and emotion to Hattie & Hayes, and her family too (who I love btw). They are so well written. I was feeling everything alongside these characters and I just wanted to give them all the biggest hug. They deserve the world. And let’s talk about the duality of this book too! I was laughing actually out loud so much (especially Maggie, my girl!) but I also cried ugly tears. Meghan’s writing is fantastic and so evocative. Cassidy’s letters… sobbing for her and Hattie Hoo and for all the Rowley’s. Cannot believe I just picked this up on the off chance, I should’ve known that Miss Meghan would steal my heart once again! Also the little nod to Ollie & Silas, I loved it <3Could not recommend more - rockstar, age-gap (12 years), small town, annoyance-to-love, boss/employee, grieving/childhood trauma, strong sibling bonds, romcom, SPICY!!! So excited to read more about this town and this family in the future.

Fantastic Read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is not my first meghan quinn book and it certainly won't be my last, she just has a way of writing the best romance books, from hockey to rockstars and I'm here for it EVERYDAY!Hayes and Hattie were just an instant love for me, their banter and humour with one another really pulled me into their atmosphere, and the angst just had me clawing at the table screaming just Kiss her Already! But this book blew me away on so many levels as they were both a match made from the god themselves they just needed a push.My Favourite Quote: ✨️“Electric sunshine?” she asks. “What exactly does that smell like?” I shift, my body precariously growing closer. “Radiance with a zing, like soft summer meadows zapped by lightning. Like a sweet combination of fire and rain. Soft and edgy"

Thoroughly enjoyed!
I really enjoy a good enemies to lovers romance trope and this was so good!Hattie and Hayes had brilliant chemistry and sexual tension. The ways they teased each other and annoyed each other was so funny.Told in dual POV we get to really know both of them well. I really liked Hayes even though he had some issues with his past. Hattie was a ray of sunshine and I loved how she brought out a better side to him. There are themes of grief in this book and I did have a few moments where I cried whilst reading. The spice in this book is red hot! Hayes is fire!!!Can't wait for more from the other family members.

Meghan Quinn never fails
I loved this a lot. I loved the story, I loved the exploration of grief and I love a tortured soul. I adored Hattie and I loved the way she got closure from her sister, eventually. Could this have been a little shorter? Yes. I’m not sure we needed over 500 pages. Still a good read!

Read it in 24 hours!
Contains spoilers!I adored this book- enemies to lovers, brother’s enemy, small town romance.I’m not one for small town romances but I loved this book. I’m not sure how much of a rockstar Hayes was, this could have been played into a little more, and I didn’t really believe the break up - would have preferred a scandal rather than him just deciding he can’t trust anyone. That said, I loved the book a lot, the characters and dialogue were well developed, and it was a great feel-good read.

Meghan Quinn is a genius
Meghan Quinn is the queen of romantic comedy. How she spins a tale with humour, wit, drama, angst and of course passion is sublime. She is not afraid to deal with difficult topics and emotions, whilst making the reader snort laugh out loud in the same chapter! The characters draw you in from the first paragraph and they do not let you go. There is trauma in this one, grief, loss, anger and a lot of fun. Chapter 20 phew a lot of cold showers required!Absolutely loved Hattie and Hayes, cant wait for the other characters to get their own stories. And I loved the pigeon references!!

Oh Hattie ❤️
This was so cute! I don’t normally like the “rockstar” types but Hayes.. he was different in the best way combating his past, even with the wildcard that is Hattie popping up on his door step! These two go from enemies to lovers in the best way! I’m so glad Hayes found his muse in Hattie and even happier that Hattie finally found the peace and acceptance she deserved. As always, Meghans made me laugh out loud and cry into a pillow with her writing! 💛
