... as I think the milo wifi system is a great system as it extended wifi coverage for me in ...
I do not normally write reviews but I felt compelled as I think the milo wifi system is a great system as it extended wifi coverage for me in my 3 story home. I am a cord cutter and wifi coverage is important to us at home. For a long time, we've had spotty and sketchy wifi connections throughout my home. At times it was aggravating to have to deal with weak signals or no signals at all until milo came along. I was hesitant at first on buying this system as I thought it might not work but decided to take a gamble on it with so little reviews. Well needless to say it was worth it, now we have full wifi coverage everywhere at home..all solid green lights on all milo points. I have to admit that setting this system up at first was a hassle, the wifi connection went ok but I kept getting a "no internet connection available" message. What I ended up doing was having to trick the system sort of speaking. First I did a wired connection and then placed the milo points in their best locations and finished the setup. Then I factory reset all the units and did a wifi connection but this time with all the units near my router ( since I already knew the distance that they would be placed was adequate), this second setup after the factory reset went through without a hitch, that previous no internet message which I had previously received did not appear. After I finished the setup I disconnected all the units and placed them where they needed to go. The most important thing about setting up the milo system is to first do a wired setup with the base point wired to your router, place your points where they need to go and then do your wifi setup after you've done the wired setup. I was at my wit's end as I did not want to go through the hassle of having to run ethernet wires at home...I am so happy I made this purchase, well worth the price..a great product which I would recommend to anyone who has a large home and is experiencing wifi issues.

- The signal strength LED's are IMHO the best part of the product
I'm honestly unhappy with the lack of features, however the product DOES EXACTLY WHAT IS ADVERTISED, that is, to extend an existing wi-fi signal throughout my residence.POSITIVE THINGS:- The signal strength LED's are IMHO the best part of the product. These allowed me to easily find just the right spot to locate the units.- The APP is relatively easy to use- Once configured (it took me two times to get it right), it seems to be doing the job as expected.- Fast support responseThat said, the issues I have, and why I'm only giving it one star, is the absolutely horrible and rediculous lack of important features for power users:NEGATIVE THINGS:- Cannot be configured as an 'open' network without passwords. We live in the country, and have zero concern or need for password protection of our wi-fi, but this system can NOT be configured in that manner (verified this with support, they gave me a lame and unacceptable excuse as to why)- Sets up it's own, UN-CONFIGURABLE, DHCP system. What this means is my network in my office becomes isolated from my network in my home, where the MiloWife system is used (different IP's). Sure, I can configure routing tables, or I could match my router in my office to the MiloWifi IP, but I definitely shouldn't HAVE TO. And since I can't see or configure the DHCP address range, I can't actually do this anyways.- Requires giving the MiloWifi folks a verifiable email address to use the APP - this alone is enough for me to never, ever recommend it. There is no reason this should be a requirement. All in all, I think the issues are because it's a relatively young system. Hopefully the folks at Milo Wifi will make the necessary changes to build an exceptional system, rather than a simplistic plug-and-play solution. For some folks, I'm sure it's ok, but it's definitely not for me.Based on other negative reviews, I expect to get the same, lame response from customer support apologizing for their system. I'll be shocked (and happy) if they actually respond to my issues. We'll wait and see...

Has some very basic limitation
So, I want to give a good review on this product because I think the product engineers need to fix some of these issues. And I would love to discuss these things with the Milo team. So, let's start.First and foremost. The configuration app has some major limitations. So I have a new Android phone with the capability to see several WiFi networks without any issues. But I could not see the Milo SSID. Called tech. support, and to their credit, I was sent out a new unit very fast. After I received the new unit, the same issue. For the new unit, I used my laptop and saw the SSID, but with no app or program embedded on the device, I could not configure the device. Then I used my Fire Tablet and was able to configure the device. So, the limitation is if you don't have an IOS/Android device that works, you can not configure this product.Second: I'm placing this in an office building with several WiFi signals. This internal radio must be drowned out, because it is not strong enough to work in an environment with several WiFI networks, even when the products says it can provide a coverage of 4,000 square feet. This office space is one floor and is not good.Third: You have to log into an online account to configure the device. Why is that? Then when you want to have the Milo device join another WiFi network to expand the original network, you can not use the "+" in the joining SSID's password. This is very disturbing. No other devices has this limitation.Forth: This device should have the ability to setup multiple SSID's. No advanced features for network performance at all.Lastly: One of the other reviewers made a statement which is very true. You have to place the devices in "the right spot" to work.I hope to hear from the Milo team, because I hope I can get a better product upgrade, but if this doesn't work out, I will have to return this device and get an established product brand like Netgear/Cisco/ etc...
