More confusing than helpful
Good concept and probably works well if your kid knows how to read already/can form various 4-word sentences. My daughter is 3.5 and is on the spectrum but can form simple sentences. I had hoped that this would help her learn how to build sentences since she learns very quickly from visual learning sources, but this one has been more confusing than helpful so far. The prepositions are not described clearly in the pictures. It's hard to understand what they mean just by looking at them, especially because the type of dog changes sometimes and is a distraction to the child. I will probably wait a little longer and try again but so far this has neither helped her nor caught her attention.

A fun language manipulatiive. . . as long as you don't take it too seriously.
So first of all, this item is decent quality and so far it has held up to a fair amount of flipping by young children. It has been useful for discussing the parts of speech in our homeschool. The kids got into it and before long my 6, 8, and 10 yo kids were cracking each other up, using it to make funny, mixed-up sentences.I do have a couple of gripes with it. First is that, as shown in the picture, the side that doesn't have the parts of speech uses questions to label the parts, but the question for the verb is "What doing?" It would work better for me if those words were reversed, or something? It just comes off as poor English, which is fine, except this is an English language teaching tool, and I feel that as such, correct English should be modeled. My other point is that the people represented in the pictures are not very diverse which matters to me as a person educating a diverse group of kids. Novel product, but hardly a homeschool essential.

I use these flip chairs with my students in RTI to help them recognize words and build sentences. Students enjoy them and I like how sturdy they are and have stood up to daily student use. The images are clear and cards easily flip. Word choices can be a little limiting as students get familiar with the he fronts and backs of all cards.
