Built tough for hard use, at a fair price
I have an original 1st generation (launch model) Leatherman tool that I bought in 1994. Served me well for many years, and in fact I still have it and it works as well now as the day I bought it. Unfortunately they’ve gone from affordable scrappy little company to a corporate behemoth, and their products are priced in luxury territory. Enter this Gerber multitool. I bought this during a Prime Day deal a few years ago, and not only did it vastly outperform my trusty Leatherman tool, it was also a fraction of the price of the modern day equivalent. I’m very, very impressed by the build quality considering the low price; this is built for actual hard work and will not break. Frankly I was so impressed I decided to buy a handful more to keep in the glovebox of each of our family cars and a few for around the house. Gerber has always made good quality knives and tools for a fair price, but how they can offer something this robust for so much less than the competition is impressive. Easy recommendation.

Great EDC without breaking the bank
I own a few Leatherman multi's and Gerbers too. Each has their purpose. I like this one in particular as my EDC for when I need a little of everything but not heavily. When I need someone more like a heavy workhorse, then I grab my Leatherman supertool 300. Many will claim this Gerber Suspension NXT is not solid. It is. It is just not meant for torquing down on the pliers with a death grip like you can with a Leatherman. But it will certainly do its job for daily obstacles in life. The Scissors are awesome. The file is short but more affective than many comparable multitools in this pricepoint. The awl is more wide but still useful and strong. Blister packs are a breeze to open with this EDC. The pliers are great for standard use of assembly or disassembly of hardware. The Philips driver is very handy. The fact that everything locks is a huge plus. The ruler is short but still very useful if you are crafty in making it work for longer measurements. The can't complain about the weight. It's ideal for an EDC but the compromise in weight is why it is not as stout as a high end leatherman. It's nothing to due with quality but all to do with staying in a pricepoint for a more lighter everyday useful multitool. If this set let's you down, then you are a candidate for a heavy duty, more expensive, multitool. Oterhwise, the Suspension NXT is a clear winner in my pocket and respective wallet.

Great tool
It's a Gerber. What else can I say? It does exactly what it's supposed to do. And it's lightweight, it has a clip and it goes right on your pocket or your belt, and it's no more than an arm's reach away..

Good Everyday Multitool, But Could Be Sturdier and More Comfortable
I picked up the Gerber Gear Suspension-NXT EDC Multitool because I wanted a reliable, compact multitool to carry for camping, small repairs, and general everyday use. Overall, I think it’s a good tool for the price, but it does have a couple of drawbacks worth mentioning.Performance:For the most part, all the tools work well. The needle nose pliers have come in handy many times and the wire stripper does a decent job for quick fixes. The knife blade is sharp enough for light cutting tasks and the screwdrivers are fine for small household jobs.Build Quality:While it gets the job done, the multitool feels a bit flimsy compared to some heavier-duty multitools I’ve used in the past. If you’re planning to use it for light-duty tasks or emergencies, it’s fine — but I wouldn’t trust it for very demanding jobs.Ergonomics:One thing that could be improved is the comfort and grip. Some of the edges feel a bit sharp when you’re squeezing the pliers tightly, and overall it could be more ergonomic for extended use.Portability:It’s slim, lightweight, and clips easily onto a pocket or bag, which makes it really convenient to carry. For EDC or as a backup tool, it’s very handy to have around.Overall:If you want an affordable multitool for everyday situations, camping trips, or to keep in a glove box, this is a solid choice. Just keep in mind that it’s best suited for lighter tasks — and a more robust model might be better if you need something heavy-duty and more comfortable to use for longer periods.Pros:✅ Good selection of tools for daily tasks✅ Compact and lightweight for easy carrying✅ Decent performance for light workCons:❌ Feels a bit flimsy under heavy use❌ Could be more ergonomic and comfortable to holdFinal Verdict:4 stars — good value for a casual multitool, but I’d love to see a sturdier build and better comfort in future versions.

Nice tool
Very handy knife is extremely sharp and the other tools work great and lock in the open position which is very useful and a lot safer

Gerber Quality
Needed a new multitool for my shooting kit. I’ve always had good luck with Gerber and in fact carried a Gerber multitool and a Gerber knife during my three tours in Iraq. Not inexpensive but the quality it top notch. Highly recommended.

My favorite.
Best for the money. I loose them a lot at work. This is my fourth pair. I'm buying it back because it works very well, steel quality is great, blade don't get dull, very sturdy and well build. I wish it have GPS tracker 😂😂😂

What a TOOL!
I gave it as a gift, but while I had it I played with it and it seems well made.
