HEATIT ET-21 Freeze Protection Thermostat Outlet, 38°F On/50°F Off 1PCS

I use this plug-in thermostat to auto switch the heat pad in an outdoor pet house. Works great, I like the status indicator lamp, no issues at all here. Super easy to use, seems to switch on/off with reasonable accuracy vs the listed temperatures.

Bought the two pack to control heat lamps for a dog house. One of them didn't work and the customer service person was very helpful and quickly responded to get the issue resolved promptly. I appreciate that as much as the product working!

Worked perfectly to plug in heat tape for my well through the winter months.The light to tell if it is on is hard to read.

Built in thermostat. Great for self regulating heat tape that continuously draws a current no matter how warm it is outside . Turns the tape on at 38 degrees Fahrenheit and turns off at 50 degrees Fahrenheit where at that temperature you can just unplug your heat tape.

The unit I received did not work as described. When plugged in, the plug did send electricity to the space heater, which was set to 600W. However, the thermostat plug shut off after less than one minute, not even enough time to warm up the space heater, let alone my RV interior. I tried unplugging and resetting the unit. The same thing happened. Based on the description, I expected the plug to cycle on when the temperature reached 38 degrees, cycle off at about 50 degrees, etc. it didn't. The seller provided additional suggestions for testing, and when those failed, sent a replacement, on the assumption that the thermostat plug was faulty. After testing the replacement extensively in a 33 degree environment I found that the current draw of even a 400W space heater warms the plug itself and it shuts off after a minute or two, never allowing the heater to warm the area as intended. The unit worked fine with a 16W LED lamp, but that kind of defeats the purpose, which is to cycle a space heater to keep an area from freezing. I'm not sure how low the wattage of the heater needs to be in order to not overheat like this, but since it even shut down with a 400W mini-heater, I don't recommend this as a thermostat for a space heater.

Maybe should have bought an Eaton or other brand name but price was right and when it failed I had another 2 to use. And who knows the more expensive one may fail too and I wouldn’t have another for back up!

Just plug it in and it works. It keeps the pump house from freezing, the heat lamp only comes on when it is needed . It definitely saves on the power bill.

Works as expected, turns on heater before it hits the freezing point and turns off before it gets too warm, so saves money on keeping the water pipes in this space from freezing.
