My wife became worried about bats after a family member discovered them in their attic. They ended up having a lot of bat droppings to clean up, some damage to their roof tiles, and the entire attic developed a terrible smell. After seeing what they went through, we definitely wanted to take preventative measures at our own home. This device gives us some extra peace of mind and is relatively inexpensive, especially when you consider how costly bat-related cleanup and repairs could become. We already had an electrical outlet in our attic, so installation was very simple—just plug it in and let it do its job. Hopefully, we'll never have to deal with a bat problem, but having this device installed makes us feel more comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an inexpensive way to help prevent bats from becoming a problem in their attic. Dealing with bats sounds like a nightmare, especially in our area!

I put two of these in my barn, bats fly all around it, right over the top of it, in front of it, hasn’t changed anything. Bats are unaffected.

Here's the thing, we finally figured out we had bats and not mice making a mess on our patio. After all of the internet suggestions failed we gave these a try. The good news is the first night we installed these our camp of bats decreased from about 10 to just 2, but after 2 weeks of trying the various settings on the devices those 2 would not leave and they would return every night. After installing some metal flashing where they had typically roosted they did not return. I could also see on a camera where they thought about roosting at different rafters, but they either wouldn't land, or quickly decided they didn't want to stay there. So, 4 stars for reducing the initial number, and keeping new ones away, but they didn't completely get rid of them until I put flashing up. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could.

I purchased this Cleanrth 2-pack to split between two separate properties in Pennsylvania. One unit is for outside our cabin in northern PA. We are surrounded by nature and have a high baseline of outdoor pests, and while we don't have any bats nesting inside our attic or walls, we get a lot of bat activity directly outside the cabin structure. I am planning to place the second unit over at a relative's swimming pool, as the bats tend to swarm and swoop low over the water at dusk to feed on bugs while everyone is swimming.I strictly prefer chemical-free pest control methods because bats are necessary for the local ecosystem, and I do not want to harm them in any way. I chose this ultrasonic system specifically because it promises a humane, non-toxic way to simply discourage them from lingering in our immediate living and swimming spaces.Out of the box, the build quality feels heavy-duty and rugged. I appreciate that the housing is water-resistant since both of my intended placements are outdoors—one under the protected overhang of the cabin roof and the other near my relative's pool deck via a heavy-duty extension cord. Because I have dogs and cats at home, the enclosed electronic design gives me great peace of mind since there are no open gels, powders, or traps for pets to accidentally get into.The dual-speaker design looks promising for throwing sound across an open space, and the settings are easy to understand. Since I just installed these, I cannot speak to the long-term effectiveness yet, but I will monitor the dusk activity over the next few weeks and update this review with how well the bats respond to the shifting frequencies. My mother in law has a horrible bat problem and these are perfect for her! Super easy to use, super quiet, small, and looks like it’s going to hold up great for her. So far we haven’t seen any bats!

Really easy to install. Plug it in, adjust the setting to the desired levels. Durability? It is a plastic little box with prongs on the back to plug it in. Don't drop it. Don't leave it out where it can be exposed to the weather, or it will short out. Worst part? No effect after a solid month. I've tried changing settings after a few days. No effect. Two of these within less than 10 feet of the worst area. The noise level does not bother people. Or pets. Or bats, for that matter. I paid over $120 for a couple of ineffectual plastic bookends.
