Thick canvas, very solid build. I wanted a backpack without zippers as they are always what fails first. This thing is sturdy and the only zippers are on a tiny interior pocket and one in the back that is almost a secret compartment, wouldn't even care if they failed. It BARELY fits my 16" Legion laptop so if you are even a smidge over 16" or have an extra bulky 16", then I would be cautious on purchasing this bag for that purpose. The backpack itself is a bit smaller than I thought it would be but overall it is still a pretty decent size. Very easy to travel with and you won't look like you are about to embark on a month long adventure. I absolutely love the way it looks, it is a perfect 10 as far as a classic looking backpack goes. The seams are all very tightly sewn and the thread looks larger than most backpacks so I have no doubt this thing will hold up. The buttons are magnetic so no worries having them rip off like standard buttons. Its padding is adequate but not over the top impressive, it's still very comfortable to wear so no issue there. What's really impressive are the main straps. They have triple support seams and are dual bolted(not sure if that is the right word). You could probably tow a car with these straps, there is no way they will rip off with normal wear and tear. The bag will be very stiff when you first get it. This is normal, canvas has to be broken in before it gets loose and flexible. If you can't wait for it to break in over time, throw it in a dryer with a few tennis balls and run it for 15 minutes on low or no heat. This will break it in fast. Overall this is a stellar bag for the price and I couldn't be happier.

Bought this backpack for a renn faire costume, may end up using it daily. The fabric is nice thick canvas with leather in all the parts that usually wear out making it feel super durable. I like that the straps adjust in length using the buckle but have a snap closure, so you can just adjust to the size you prefer and then snap when you need to access. Makes it super easy. I really like the hidden pocket on the piece that faces your back. Has a nice pocket and strap inside of laptop holding. Fit a 15" laptop without issue and room to spare. Excited for this to be my new travel backpack.

I got this backpack for a camping retreat trip that I was taking. I received numerous comments about how great the bag looks. It held all of my things very well, and the extra pockets came in handy for lots of little items that I wanted to bring along. I also plan to use this bag for when I take my laptop places to work, as it has a great laptop slip pocket in the center space. Overall, this is a great backpack for those looking for some rugged aesthetics with a vintage touch and plenty of durability!

The bag is just as described, with a very strong and rigid material. The build quality is excellent. My only wish is that it were a bit more spacious. Because of its rigidity, you can only pack it as much as it allows, but overall it's a very good bag.

Good size for average women/ short men Hasn't broken in 30 days or after travelling twice. Kept out light rains. Wish it had side pockets that fit a water bottle of ANY size. Otherwise perfect.

As someone who is always switching out my book bags looking for the perfect one, I can honestly say I have finally found my forever bag. So well made, perfect size, it even has a cell phone pocket on the back. It would be foolish not to get this bag…like for real, you will LOVE it!

Received my backpack a week ago. I love the look of it, and overall it seems really well put together. My biggest gripe however is the reason I bought the pack in the first place. I want to carry my laptop around to and from work, along with some other items. It has a ton of space but the laptop compartment's padding is very flimsy, and doesn't feel very protective.
