Definitely works for making beer
This burner definitely works for making beer. I typically boil 7 gallons of wort reducing it to 5.5 gallons. This burner handles that easily, raising the temperature by nearly 4F per minute (3.8F/minute). This with the supplied 20 PSI regulator and my (typically) half full 20lbs propane tanks (high pressure propane, not low pressure propane, not natural gas).* Adjusting the air mix was simple; once set, it's good for low or high flame output* Sturdy, easy to assemble frame; no qualms putting a 15 gallon boil kettle atop it.NOTE: with the supplied 0 - 20 PSI regulator and a standard 20 lbs propane tank (which is only filled to 80% and hence about 16 to 17 lbs), you will NOT achieve 200,000 BTUs with this burner. The burner itself is only rated for 200,000 BTUs but not supplied with a regulator, hose, and orifice which can achieve that. And that's okay for brewing beer! If you really need the full 200,000 BTUs then do your research regarding the regulator, orifice, line size, and tank size that you will need: these ALL come into play. Is my tank capable of producing the necessary volume of propane vapor from liquid per minute? Can my regulator handle it? Can my line carry that throughput? Can the orifice at the end of the line present it? These all need to be considered and can readily be researched. Or better yet, a specialist consulted to give advice. (There's reasons why road side cook chefs use much larger propane tanks: it's not just to have more propane because they use more, but to also be able to vaporize it faster -- to present larger volumes of it per second so as to drive higher BTUs for their combined gear.)

Super burner that we use for Woks, Stockpots, and Cast Iron cooking!
This burner is well-made and strong. The legs attach easily and securely. Hooking up the propane hose to a tank is a breeze, and the oxygen adjuster is also easy to adjust. The flame put out by this burner is INTENSE!! 200k BTU's is blasting fire! The burner frame can handle a lot of weight and works just fine for both flat bottoms and Wok round bottoms but I purchased a Whirlpool cast iron wok ring that fits the burner perfectly and makes wok cooking a breeze. (See pictures) We bought it primarily for Wok use as well as large stockpot cooking for shrimp and crab boils. It also is magic for high-heat cast iron cooking! Can't find a single thing wrong with the burner, but do wish it stood a little higher. Easy to light and all the emitters work without any issues...even in wind. I may build a secure stand to elevate it to waist height. It's critical to first run without cooking for about 15-20 minutes in order to burn off the paint that will not handle the heat. After that, it's just perfect! Five Stars and an honest and hearty recommendation! A+

Like just about any other similar burner
Overall impressions: solid burner - maybe needs a little more instruction to make the initial setup easier.I bought this burner to transition my homebrewing setup outdoors and to be able to utilize 8 gallon brew pots. After assembling the unit I brought it outside for a test burn. The brass orifice needed a bit of work to operate properly. I needed to remove a rather cumbersome black vinyl wrap and a lot of cardboard plugs from inside the part. This took me a little while to get the part clear of debris/packing material. I wish this had been noted in the instructions somewhere. This is the reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5.Once ready for use, I fired up the burner and tested it to see how long an 8 gallon pot would take to get from about 60F to boiling. Took about 35 mins overall. So I was really impressed with the performance. Like just about any other similar burner, the paint around the flame area will burn off on the first use. Just be sure to keep this out of rain to prevent rusting. I might try to replace with a really high temp engine paint to see if that’s a little longer lasting. But not really a big deal.My first brew day went extremely well except for the fact that this burner heated water so quickly I didn’t have enough time to get things ready for mashing and nearly overshot my stroke water temp. But that’s something I’ll gladly deal with!Overall really happy with the purchase.

Exceptional cooker for brewing, frying, boiling, and pickling a whole mess of cucumbers.
This is a great burner. I originally bought it for brewing beer since the traditional style Turkey fryer with the little torch thing in the middle would take forever to boil 12 gallons of wort and probably end up scorching it in the process. This is a different story. Boils in no time and since the heat is spread out it is difficult, if not impossible, to scorch your wort. Since I’ve gotten it I’ve also used it to fry a few turkeys and a lot of fish, steam oysters, and for canning pickles and it excels at all. It’s saved me hours for the pickles alone since I make ALOT of pickles, usually start about two 30 gallon batches per week during the cucumber growing season and the type of pickles I make are 14 day icicle pickles which require you to drain the syrup into a pot, boil it, then pour it back over the pickles once per day for a whole week. Needless to say when you are boiling two or three pots containing 15-20 gallons of liquid each per day for a couple months, the difference between bringing it to a boil in 15 minutes vs 1+ hours ends up saving you a whole mess of time. And this cooker is rock solid even when you’ve got a pot with of 20 gallons of sugar/vinegar syrup (around 180lbs) in it since the legs and grate are made out of 5/32” thick steel bar that’s 1-3/8” wide. Best part of all is this cooker was 1/2 to 1/3rd the price of the name brand banjo style burners when I bought it. It’s still pricy, but it’s worth every single penny if you use it regularly and it’s so, so much better in every way than the traditional turkey fryer burners they sell at the Lowe’s and Home Depots. I am really glad I decided to pull the trigger on this purchase.
