Good elastic quality. Not sure about the max temp. it can withstand.
I opened a hole in the middle to cross through a small glass tube so I can place my K2-Type Thermometer Probe in very toxic or high temp. reactions and it seems to be working fine.

Can be used to seal a decanter.
I used this to fix a mismatched stopper on a decanter. Used a blade to cut it down, but worked great. Saved the bargain lead Cristal decanter.
