Just what my husband needed, quite easy to set up and I am a bit of a technophobe!!

DOSENT matter what dimension or weight you input. The navigation still wants to take you down back streets and that is with a Trailer and unit. Also the navigation would turn it self of and then come on again whilst Driving. Not happy with it. The 6250. Is a older but much better navigation

It's a really good sat nav except when you go to shut it down it won't shut down until hours later and then you struggle to get it back on and when you eventually get it back on you have to start from scratch again with setting it all up with email etc. So I have just leave it to sleep and not shut down that way it's ok. Tomtom help is a waste of time as it's a computer and that doesn't understand.

It's never put a foot wrong . Put all weights and dimensions in and always got to destination without a hicup

2 stars – Good idea, but serious charging and usability issues I bought the TomTom GO Expert Plus 7” as a used item from Amazon Warehouse / Amazon Resale. Unfortunately, my unit has several problems. The biggest issue is charging. The device does not charge properly through the windscreen mount / charging setup. I left it connected overnight, but the battery was still empty in the morning. When using the sat nav in the vehicle, it warns that it will switch off because it is not charging. This is made worse by the fact that the battery level is not clearly visible during active navigation. While driving, you do not really know whether the device is charging or how much battery is left, until it suddenly warns you or switches off. For a professional driver, this is a serious problem. The car cigarette lighter charger was also missing from the box, which is disappointing because it should be part of the complete setup. Another downside is the speaker volume. Even at high volume, the voice guidance sounds quieter than my old TomTom GO Professional 6250. The screen is good and the navigation features are useful, but because of the charging issue, missing accessory, unclear battery visibility during driving, and quiet speaker, I cannot rely on this unit for daily work. I am giving it 2 stars and taking off 3 stars mainly because the charging setup is not reliable, which is a major issue for a sat nav used for work.

Let’s start by saying this is a review for the Tom Tom expert +7. I drive a truck not a lorry. First impressions Big, having had the 6 inch GSM professional model for many years, which I’ve been reluctant to replace unfortunately it just isn’t quick enough anymore or informative on traffic. So I beat the bullet and upgraded to this; 1st, Instant dislike came when I turned it on and tried to do an update to the maps. Deleting what I didn’t need due to restricted space on the device itself (il come back to that point). This delete/ update killed the device as you can see in the image. Luckily, I could connect to my laptop and restore the operating system (which wasn’t too hard and the program actually forced towards), but be advised if you don’t have one of these as you may be in trouble if you experience the same issue. Once restored and fully set up, 2nd dislike, came when I went to update my maps as I realised very quickly that tom-tom have given you a very restricted internal storage (which is just Ludacris in this day and age), then they have removed the external microSD function. 3rd Dislike came when I FINALY went to actually use it, there is an inherent issue with this software so the new function they rave about that gives you bold visual ques (arrows) to navigate you left or right, turns into a white or yellow box frequently rather than an arrow. 4th and final dislike so far, the noise for the speed cameras has been dulled down so much, I can barely hear it over the radio, with the radio at a reasonable volume. Why they couldn’t give you an option to make it really invasive (like the professional was), if that’s what you want and keep all voice audio silent is beyond me. Given the market, TomTom are now in with most people using their mobiles; for me this satnav really doesn’t meet the price bracket they’re charging for it. Yes, it’s mostly quite good and it is quick and on the most part it is an upgrade from my professional model. Am I on the fence about keeping it? Absolutely. At the moment, I’m tempted to send it back if for no other reason then the visual cues/ software glitches. I have no confidence in the software long-term, given the issues I’ve already faced. I hope this helps inform you a little better than I was watching many reviews prior to purchase. None of which really mentioned these critical points.

Will not connect to phone. Will not connect to tom tom account and therefore not able to update. Will not find current location. Will not find typed address. Would not trust it in any sense.

Parfait !! Étant conducteur d'autocar de tourisme je m'en sers très souvent il est très pratique, fluide, rapide en recherche d'itinéraire, le trafic fonctionne très bien via Bluetooth.. Petit bémol la batterie ne tient pas très longtemps

Mein neuer LKW steht in den Startlöchern, und das Vorgänger-Navi bleibt im alten und bei dem neuen Fahrer. Da ich damit sehr zufrieden war, habe ich mir - trotz der negativen Bewertungen - das aktuelle Modell zugelegt. Da es auf die alte Halterung passt, konnte ich es jetzt 3 Wochen intensiv testen. Größter Unterschied zum Vorgänger ist neben farblicher Personalisierung die Möglichkeit Animationen einzublenden. Was wie Spielerei klingt kann aber sehr nützlich sein, besonders wenn man ohne akustische Anweisungen fährt. Da diese Animationen unübersehbar sind, besteht nicht mehr die Gefahr die Ausfahrt zu verpassen. Was außerorts gut ist kann innerorts allerdings etwas nerven, da das ständige Geblinke irgentwann stört. Die 1-jährige Radar-Lizenz funktionierte testweise gut, wird von mir wegen "nicht erlaubt" aber nicht genutz. Wie beim Vorgänger funktionieren die Verkehrsdaten mit Staus und Sperrungen tadellos, Stauenden werden präzise angezeigt. Entgegen schlechter Bewertung werden Verzögerungen und die daraus resultierende (voraussichtliche) Ankunftszeit sehr wohl angegeben. Das es leider oft vorkommt, dass eigentlich kein Stau prognostiziert wird - auch nicht im Radio - weil die linken Spuren frei, die rechte Spur aber voll ist (Rückstau oder LKW-Überholverbot), verzögert sich die Ankunft immer weiter, wofür das Navi aber nichts kann. Brauchte ich beim Vorgänger noch den WLAN-Hotspot vom Smartphone, funktioniert das jetzt auch über Bluetooth. Alternative Routen lassen sich jederzeit einfach anzeigen und auswählen, ohne die Aufmerksamkeit übermäßig abzulenken. Beschränkungen, die sich auf die tatsächliche Masse des LKW beziehen können natürlich so nicht berücksichtigt werden, da das Navi diese nicht kennt. Im Fall der Zoobrücke in Köln lässt es mich mit 32 Tonnen zulässigem Gesamtgewicht nicht darüber fahren, obwohl der LKW leer ist, weshalb ich die Fahrzeugdaten auf 30,0 Tonnen angepasst habe, und schon funktioniert es. Da ich regelmäßig ein Online-Backup gemacht habe, konnte ich übrigens alle Favoriten auf das neue Gerät übertragen - sehr praktisch. Auch eine Routenplanung mit Zwischenstopps klappt problemlos. Ich hatte in den 3 Wochen keinerlei Softwareprobleme, keine Abstürze, kein ungewolltes Ein- bzw. Ausschalten o. Ä. zu beklagen. Somit freue ich mich darauf dieses durchaus LKW-taugliche Navi demnächst in täglicher Anwendung zu haben. ICH KANN ES EMPFEHLEN UND WÜRDE ES WIEDER KAUFEN!
