It did die after 2 weeks but they accepted the return and gave me a new one the next day and it’s been 3 months and hasn’t broke even a centimeter of graphite. Sharpens perfect not really sharp at the end just a flat tip which I like. I use it like every day, nice and small and super easy to use. Very very powerful.

Ive been using this in my shop now for several weeks before I decided to post this review. It comes with a power brick which I threw way as I have a ton of them and no place in my shop to plug it in. Using it with AA batteries and it works fine. I also appreciate the auto stop feature when it has finished the point. Will only sharpen 6 - 8 mm pencils which works fine for me. Overall compared to many products I have bought in the past I gave it 5 stars for size, power and ease of use. Its a vertical design so it fits on my small desk easily.

I had received several recommendations for this sharpener and decided to try it out. At first I loved it. It works so fast and the point is amazing! Points are long & sharp and they don't break when you use them! But after using it for a week or two I was realizing that it seemed like my pencils were shrinking awfully fast. I think the auto-stop feature on this sharpener needs some tweaking. I think it goes a little too far and ends up chewing through my pencils a lot more than necessary to get a sharp point. Also I have a hard time holding on to the pencil while it's being sharpened - they want to twist and spin in my fingers. This sharpener only takes pencils from 6mm to 8mm. I have quite a few pencils that are just over 8mm so I needed to find my little handheld sharpener for those pencils - inconvenient to have to use more than one sharpener. This Jarlink would be better with a few improvements - adjusting the auto-stop feature so it doesn't chew through pencils so quickly, the ability to accommodate more sizes and also being rechargeable would be a nice benefit since outlets aren't always close enough for the power cord. This could still work for some people depending on their needs.

Works excellent, smooth, and my grandkids haven't busted anything on it. (They draw a lot.) It's quiet and makes short work of sharpening various sized pencils.

We have tried so many pencil sharpeners. I homeschooled our children for 3 years. Now they're in a Catholic school that requires them to use pencils for their homework, not pens. Our pencil sharpeners were all so terrible I was beginning to buy boxes of newly sharpened pencils and just throwing them away when the lead wore out (I UNDERSTAND THAT IS A TERRIBLE NON-IDEAL RELATIONSHIP WITH PENCILS!)I love reviews on amazon. I read them like crazy to make a decision with a good price point for our family's purchases. I decided to try this one. IT IS RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING. It even adjusts on its own to fit to the exact width of the pencil. EVERY SINGLE PENCIL THAT GOES INTO IT COMES OUT WITH PERFECT POINT AND WITHOUT EATING UP THE ENTIRE PENCIL IN THE PROCESS.We have 7 children. I don't have a lot of time to do anything superfluous, including writing amazon reviews. It was THAT GOOD, I am writing a review to help other mothers who are researching good deals! BUY IT!I also was pleasantly surprised that it isn't SOLELY on batteries-- it can be charged or run by a USB power cable. That is also awesome.

Bought this because my coloured pencils that I use for portrait drawing are very expensive and I kept breaking them constantly in ordinary sharpeners. I tried using a box cutter knife and couldn’t get a sharp edge. This sharpener is awesome. It gives me the sharper tip I’ve been looking for and the pencil doesn’t keep breaking. I should have bought one a long time ago. Recommend.

It worked fine for the first few months, sharpened quickly, no malfunction. I used it to sharpen my daughters' color pencils. It broke down though, when I loaded back the grinder after plugging it out to remove a stuck tip. It stopped working and no longer respond to any pressure. Luckily I have a spare but I was surprised how easily it broke considering that it had been working so well. I guess it's not meant to be disassembled by a laymen.

Disappointed with this sharpener, it chews up pencils without sharpening them. Even the graphite pencils take a beating although they do end up sharpened.
