Low-profile, simple bathroom fan
Have bought two of these now. The first was two years ago and is still going strong. This purchase was to replace a defunct fan in our shower room.Fan is a simple on/off job with a blue indicator light to let you know when it's running - in case you can't hear it!Has the ability to run at two speeds, controlled by a jumper (this becomes clear when you look at the instructions & fan).Only negative is that the anti-draft flaps are located right at the top of the fan vent tube, which means that if you have a bend in your duct right above where the fan is installed, you'll possibly need an extra straight section of vent pipe.

Overall good choice
Overall pleased. Slum design.but protrudes extra inside the wall. Used this one to replace primeline 4inch fan which was dying out with more noise. This one is approx 145 mm from the wall face inside the wall. I had plenty space so no issues.Only issue was the leaflet has a different circuit diagram fig 5 as in the photo. Where the supplied fan had different number and visible configuration on it.This has two speeds. There were three jumpers inside the circuit already in place. I tried unhooking one by one. And two out of three jumpers the fan won't work at all if removed. The jumper which is on itws own is the one for making high speed setting. Just remove this jumper which is away from the two adjacent jumpers and leave it in the box itself.

Not as good as I expected.
Fitted this as directed. However, because only ONE of the back draught shutters has a spring, the other fails to close properly. I contacted Vent-Axia and they confirmed only one of the shutters, should have a closing spring. I asked if another could be sent to me, as a gesture of 'good will', to facilitate BOTH shutters closing...........NO! This part must cost around 2p and the advisor just suggested buying and additional, electrically operated vent for the outside! Abysmal customer service from Vent-Axia!

A replacement for an inferior fan
Bought this to replace a downstairs toilet ceiling fan which had been fitted since the house was built. The fan in question had Emma written on it in blue - try and find one of those ! It most certainly was inexpensive (as fitted by builders), it protruded from the ceiling by at least 30mm and the noise, it could be heard from three rooms away. Compared to this the Vent-Axia is absolute quality, in fact I look forward to paying a visit to the loo just to admire it !Pros: fits neat to ceiling line, quiet, high speed or low speed setting, looks goodCons: I fitted mine to a downstairs ceiling, the fan housing (on the rear) is quite long. This bit has to fit inside ducting pipe so there was not much ceiling void left to allow the ducting pipe to bend when the fan was fully inserted. I had to remove the small plastic auto shutters (which open & close upon fan operation) as they where hindered from operating by the bend in the ducting pipe. Fortunately there is no back draught coming through the ducting pipe, however I have had to drop a star rating because of this. This model does not have a timer fitted so simply switches on and off with the light switch instantaneously. The 100T model has a delay off timer fitted but be aware that a permanent live wire will be required for this to function.

Instructions do not represent this model
Used in ceiling application. Problem being the draft shutters foul the duct hose as they open proud of the fan casing. Had to remove them. The wiring diagram supplied with the fan to improve performance is nothing like the fans internal electrics.
