it does what it says, blocks the sun from my dash which in turn keeps the glare off my windshield which makes my dash cam see better. it does, however, not fit perfect. doesnt bother me at all, but it may some of yall. i do like the material, more of a suede type than the others that are just fuzzy. over all works fine

I have a 2019 Chevy Malibu, which this product fit very well. It is sewn so it curves up over the hump of the driver's console and sewn around the light sensor at the front of the window as well as vent holes for the defrost/ac/heater.Out of the box, the product has an odor from manufacturing I did not like, but this does go away very quickly - within a day or two. Good thing it does. It's not a 'reek-bad' smell, it's just not enjoyable.It's not a thick as the old-school 'carpet' dash covers you might be familiar with. That doesn't bother me, and is actually a positive in my book because I'm not going for a circa 1980 look. This mat is about 1/2 an inch thick.The mat also has sewn hems around every cut, which is very nice. Gives it a finished look that won't fray.Items I lay up on my dash do not slide around when I go around corners or accelerate/decelerate. I like that indeed.The unit comes with several two-sided sticker pads. These are absolutely necessary and I do not like that about this dash mat. They are necessary because the item does not lay 'flat' on its own. I assume this is a combination of the thinner, lighter-weight material and the sewed hems. So in order to get this mat to stretch out and lay flat, you have to stick it down to the dash using these pads. I do not want glue residue on my dash.The photo in my review has been filtered to try and get the best view of the variations in the dash mat; the mat itself is a dark black, so be aware that the colors in my photo are not accurate. It is also a panoramic cropped picture, so I suggest opening it to view the entirety.In the end, I think it's a good value for the price, I just have to use an additional product to get it to stretch out correctly on the dash without adhesives. Maybe if the manufacturer could get it flat and ship it with only one fold in the middle, it could prevent what is a major detraction for me.
