2 faulty lcd screens in a row
The first one I ordered came with an lcd screen that didn't work. Amazon replaced it with a second unit. The lcd screen does t work on the replacement either! 2 out of 2 were broken. Bad track record. Beware!

Do not waste your money
They have no controls o. Temperature and its burning the formula. Do not use it in your lab for formulation or candles

Gets rather hot, though may take a while to heat something up, no indicator lights
The media could not be loaded. This is a nice device although fairly basic as does not have any sort of temperature reading or controls beyond mix speed and temperature. It took I think 10-15 minutes to get a glass of water up to like 130F. Seems to work as expected just have to find the center of the stirring part it would be nice if the center had a mark on it or concentric expanding rings showing where the center is. I then put about as much hot cocoa mix as I could in without overflowing the glass. It mixed quite well with the spinner going. The spinner part will not run through unless the heat knob is on at least some. The knobs do click when turned off or on but an LED or something would be nice on both of these. The only indicator on this seems to be an illuminated rocker power switch on the rear next to the IEC plug. Also has a stand for holding test probes, etc in over the item being worked on. This is more common in labs but I saw and figured could be nice for the kitchen or perhaps some other thing I have not thought of. Or could just use as a drink warmer and make people ask questions.

Heat and spin hot plate.
There is no indication with digital numbers for speed of spin or temperatures, but even still it works and it got up to about 90C on the top plate center when the dial was pointed halfway to max. The spin went very fast without shooting the magnet off, centered and consistent. The stand is great. There is no temp probe that it comes with and I don’t see a plug for one either. There is a hole, but no hardware connection. But there is also no LCD screen for displaying a feedback temp either. In any case, it works well! Great things will happen with this.

Having to use an external temp probe is a nuisance, but the magnetic plate is very reliable
I ordered this to get a small chemistry lab started for learning-by-doing and personal projects. It's a very reliable machine and seems to be built to keep around long-term. Initially, I regretted not getting the slightly more expensive version with an LCD screen that shows the hot plate temperature. As is, I have to use an external temperature probe to check multiple times and make sure the plate is at a certain heat setting, which quickly becomes a bit of nuisance. However, I've been reading a few other reviews that suggest the LCD version may be more flaky, so I've come to accept this one as is and am not bothered by the lack of a built-in temperature display anymore. This item is very competitively priced against some of the better known brands that are significantly more expensive. If you're on a tight budget but need a magnetic hot plate stirrer, this one is an excellent option. I'm keeping an eye on this brand and will continue to buy other lab supplies and equipment from their catalogue. Recommended...

Top-shelf unit for chemistry.
We help out with some of the high-school chemistry labs and they needed a few more hot plates and stirrers so I picked this one up to help out. It was by far the nicest and most advanced unit there. It was spot-on for the temperature and it held the temp even when stirring (which increases the evaporation and cooling).

No LED readout
The media could not be loaded. This is a nice looking stirring hot plate with a detachable cord. It performs as expected with the one unfortunate detail of no LED readout to know what temperature you're setting the hot plate to. It does say "no LED" in the product description, but there is no indication at all for what temperature you are setting to.The stirring capability works wonderfully, a magnetic stirring pill is included in the packaging as well as a adjustable stand for tall lab glass lake distillation equipment.Works well heating samples.

Does the job
It gets hot quickly with uniform heat. I didn’t detect any hot spots. Speed is easy to adjust. Works well.
