CAMPNDOOR High Limb Rope Saw 53 In - Zero Effort 360 Rope Chain Saw
This rope saw works well. I did not use the weight bag because it was square and a bit hard to throw with any accuracy. Bought a arborist throwing bag and I thought it was easier to throw up 30-40 feet into the tree. The hard part of this process is getting the rope up around the branch you want. It is harder than one might think at first. The other branches get in the way and aiming and throwing an object is hard as well. Some times the weight bag would wrap around the tree limb causing problems. It takes time to get down a rope in that case. I once had the rope go up and around a branch and go around a couple times. Oddly the rope clipped into the carabeaner up around 30 feet up. That took a few hours to get down. I stopped using the Carabeaner on the line while throwing the weight after that point. The carabeaner also would get stuck at the V in the branches. Better to tie the rope directly to the bag . And actually might be better to tie the ag onto the heavier rope using a light line. That way it will break off if it gets stuck. Eventually I did have success getting the rope around the right tree limbs. Getting the saw up was easy. The rope provided is a little short. I needed to add on another rope. The sawing action went well, I was able to easily and quickly saw the limb down once I had the rope up there. I only pulled the saw about a foot with each pull. At the end in all cases I worked on the chain stopped movement right at the point the limb started to break. And after the limb fell the chain fell down following the limb. I had one short limb only about 12 feel up off the ground and decided to use this rope chain saw because it cuts faster than a hand saw. However at about half way thru the 2-3 inch branch the chain jammed and I could not free it. I went up there with a ladder to check it out. I found the chain stuck in the branch and I could not easily free it. I did what I would do if I couldn't reach the branch, I put another rope over the end of the branch and had another person pull down slightly on that rope while I pulled on the rope chain. It did free up and I was able to continue cutting until it fell down. The two things different in this last case is that I was cutting directly under the branch, because it was short and light. And the other thing is the branch was much lighter than the other branches. I think that if I had been further away from the tree, cutting on an angle, it might not have jammed. Cutting at a 90 degree to the branch will jam. I think it cuts thru too fast and sinks the chain into the branch too tight. So short of the story, try to cut the branch so you are further out from the tree to avoid cutting at a 90 degree angle to the branch. And have another rope handy to use to put weight on the end of the branch, if needed. I recommend this chain saw to get limbs down from tall trees. You can remove the top half of tall limbs and avoid hitting the house or other obsticles.

Must have tool if you need to cut high branches.
This worked better than I hoped. People here saying nothing more than a couple inches are wrong. Beside branches that cut like butter, I cut 12 inches through hard oak that was standing upright (not a branch), and made it through with limited profanity. You can basically cut any wood with this. In the absence of a motorized chain saw, this is the way to go. The handles aren't helpful (flimsy), the weight bags weren't helpful to me. I used heavy washers to sling the rope. The gloves are alright. The case is too small to make the tool fit inside again. The chain that you can attach to ropes (included) is awesome and can easily save thousands compared to renting a bucket truck.

Works well. Safer than using ladder
Update (changing the rating to 4 stars) - The replacement rope saw arrived without any issues. Used it to 3 branches at around 25 ft. Worked well, and it was much safer than using a tall ladder. The reason for 4 stars - it took many throws to get to the right branch, and then a few times the saw got stuck in the branch, that needed couple of good yanks. _______ Ordered new rope saw, and received USED one today. The chain is broken in 2 pieces with small wood chips stuck in it. Disappointed. Requested replacement.

Love it.
Great little tool. I would suggest selling with two different size chains. For large high limbs it's easy for two people but harder job for one. Not so easy to use on lower smaller limbs, the chain is just too long would have to stand really far back.

Great for up to 6" branches that are out of reach of a pole saw.
First, as an aside, the gloves that come in this kit are now my favorite gloves! My first time using the saw it kept binding and after I had cut 3/4 of the way through a 12" thick branch that was 30' in the air the saw became completely stuck. I was afraid that I would have to call a tree trimmer because I could not leave a branch in that condition where someone might walk beneath it. I tried walking really far out to get it loose but whatever I tried would not work. I pulled harder to try to get it loose and the rings that hold the saw to the ropes broke. I was able to get another rope over the end of the branch and break the branch down. Overall, I think the product is dangerous to be depended on for this large of a branch if you do not have a backup method prepared in case of an issue. The company reached out to me to suggest that I had used the wrong attachments on the saw blade itself and sent me a replacement. The attachments I used were the ones already attached to the saw (the same as the replacement they sent), but the company is only using the larger carabiners for future orders. I am impressed with the company's efforts to make a quality product and to improve it, as well as to ensure customer satisfaction. The blade did cut well, and I ultimately saved $100s of dollars over calling a professional. I would discourage anyone else from cutting as large of a branch as I did though. The risk of the saw binding as the branch tips one way or another are pretty high. I will certainly use this product on <6" (15cm) branches in the future!

Works better with two people
The saw cuts great and takes less effort that I anticipated but it gets stuck every single time when the branch sags and causes the chain to bind. Even a 2" maple branch will bind and then its a real struggle to get it loose. It works better if there are two people spread far apart.

No job to big
I had a large Hickory tree that was growing sideways and it was leaning over my pole barn. I had three professionals refuse to touch it because they were worried that the tree would kick out if cut and hurt them. Even cutting the top piece by piece was dangerous because the main tree would jump up as it got lighter. The roots were starting to pull out of the ground and I needed to do something, so I bought this kit and cut the tree down. I threw a string over the trunk about 20 feet in the air, pulled the cutting chain into place, and with the help of my son, pulled back and forth until the tree fell. It was hard to pull the chain back and forth, but the saw chain cut at an amazing rate. I used my own rope and we stood back from the tree, holding the ends at a 90 degree angle from each other. At the point we were cutting, the truck was 20 inches in diameter. The plastic handles bent, so I stuck a wood dowel in the hole and it worked fine. Instead of sending thousands of dollars, i used this kit and it worked great. Thanks, Pat

Did not come as advertised. safety concern.
**Update 3/24/25** I reached out directly to the company and they immediately sent out a replacement and stated that it "will include all the correct components as listed on our Amazon product page". And that they did, but they also changed the images on their product page to remove these safer locking links. See the attached with before and after photos. While I commend them on attempting to make it right, this comes off as sketchy and not in the best interests of the customer. At this time I can't recommend this saw as it is too easy for the carabiner clips to accidently lock over a branch making it difficult if not impossible to retrieve. If this were to occur midway through sawing a branch then you could potentially be left with a partially sawn branch that could break and fall at an inopportune time. Because of their sending out a replacement that is inferior and altering their product description to match that, I am dropping the rating down from a 2 to a 1 star. This not only is a safety issue, but one that appears they are trying to hide. At first I liked this saw. Simple and cut well. Mine did not come as advertised though. It had 4 carabiners, when the product description shows it comes with 2 carabiners and 2 quick links. I didn't think much of this until I tried to cut a branch down and as I pulled the saw up the carabiner locked itself onto a branch. The branch was relatively thin so the carabiner clip slid right onto it. Thankfully, with it being thin I was able to use a pole to push the carabiner up the branch far enough to be able to bend it down and pull the carabiner off, but this took well over an hour of work. I will not be using this as is and don't suggest using it if you do not have the lockable links to use around chain. Heck, even around the weight bags, as they could easily get caught this way too. I contacted the company but have not heard back yet. I'm giving this a 2 star as it worked, but did not come as advertised, I will update after I heard back from the company.
