Does the game board fold in half or quarters?

Half. Not Quarters. It's flimsy. Don't expect quality. Kids use it. They like it. But I remember checker boards being flat. It's kinda warped.

how many checkers are included? Backgammon requires 15.

Thanks for asking. This is a brand new game so it has the full set of pieces required to play checkers. I don't play checkers so I am not familiar with the number of pieces requied. Hope that helps!
