In Young Justice, being a teenager means proving yourself over and over — to peers, parents, teachers, mentors and, ultimately, to yourself. But what if you're not just a normal teenager? What if you're a teenage super hero? How much harder will it be to prove yourself in a world of super powers, super villains and super secrets? Are you ready to come of age in such a world? Are you ready for life or death rites of passage? Are you ready to join the ranks of the great heroes and prove you're worthy of the Justice League? That's exactly what the members of Young Justice — Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis — will find out … whether they have what it takes to be a proven hero. From Warner Bros. Animation and based on DC Comics characters, Young Justice is a bold new animated series. Are you in? Review: GREAT SERIES FOR DC FANS . RECOMMEND SELLER . Review: My favourite superhero animation, plays fine on UK PS3 but lacks special features - One of the best and most critically acclaimed animated shows of recent years, Young Justice is definitely worth watching for fans of the comic book genre, featuring complex characters and season-long plotlines brought to life with excellent animation, voice acting and music. Unlike most superhero cartoons that seem to cater exclusively for children with wacky comedy, Young Justice is reminiscent of the Bruce Timm era of DC Comics animation, showcasing a team of former sidekicks as they undertake covert missions for the Justice League. As a result, Young Justice is a serious and mature show with intense action and character development that are balanced out with moments of humour, making it ideal for older audiences and children alike. While advertised as a Region A Blu-Ray release, this plays absolutely fine on my UK Playstation 3 and I suspect it would play on a standard Blu-Ray player as well. The visual and audio quality is superb, with smooth animation that is free of motion blur, though there are some minor visual issues that are almost impossible to notice unless you are REALLY trying to find them. My only complaint about this product is that there are NO special features, something that I would have expected from a DVD release but certainly not Blu-Ray, as paying a higher price for a higher quality product should have included some bonus material.

a fantastic animated show
This is season 1 of the animated TV series 'Young Justice' (from 2010-11). It's an excellent show, and thoroughly entertaining. It is about a group of young super-heroes who team-up and engage in various adventures. This show is set within a wider DC universe, in which the Justice League exist. Indeed, it has close ties the animated movies 'Crisis on Two Earths' and 'Doom' - and follows much the same continuity. But whereas the movies focused on the adult super-heroes (e.g. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman), this show is about their 'side-kicks' ... it includes Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian, and Artemis. While I wasn't initially expecting much from this show, given how it's about several minor characters, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is! Indeed, it's a worthy "sequel" to the animated Justice League show. Season 1 consists of 26 episodes. While many involve one-shot adventures, there is a season-long story arc (which, in fact, connects to season 2). As well as the main stories, there's a lot of focus on how the characters get along, grow as a team, and develop their powers and abilities. The Blu-ray is a 2-disc set. It provides excellent audio and video. And there are many extra features. While this is an import (from the USA), it plays on region 2 machines. The story-telling is engaging and sophisticated, and I really enjoyed the show. It's a lot of fun. I eagerly awaited season 2 ... and I was disappointed that the show was cancelled at that point.

Justified purchase!
Really good season and certainly in terms of production values for an animated series, very high quality. Bulls really well right up to the concluding episodes.

WOW!
Young Justice has always been a favourite of mine! Great animation! Good stories with a nice pace and an underlying plot thread throughout the whole series with a few twists along the way!

YJ has still got it!
Good TV show - One of my favourite DC shows from my childhood - Season 1 is a balance between catering for kids and more mature audiences, whereas Season 2 is a tad more serious/dramatic. Either way, the animation still holds up as does the all-star voice acting. If you're looking for good modern DC action, Young Justice is it.

How much do I love Young Justice
How much do I love Young Justice? Let me count the ways! I honestly can't remember the last time I have been so thoroughly obsessed with a show since Young Justice. I really only just discovered it last summer and since then I have rewatched the series multiple times. The animation is great, the storyline keeps you gripped tight and the character development makes you wish you were growing alongside these heroes. I am one of many who wishes dearly for a Season 3 to resolve certain plot points at the end of Season 2. I have my finger on the networks pulse of the show for even the slightest breath of a new season. This show comes highly recommended to anyone who wants to be fully submersed in a world of heroes from different backgrounds all working towards a common goal.

surprisingly deep for a cartoon
like another reviewer here I was surprised by the depth of the storyline, I don't normally watch these types of programs but it was really good and I enjoyed every one of them. watching the characters grow was really good I'm seeing how the dynamics change in the group and the various story arcs kept me watching again and again

Awesome Series!
I am very new to the animated DC universe, I had heard that it was far better than the movies so this was among the first shows I got. I really enjoyed this series, it has a lot of the main Justice League characters, (Batman, Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Martian Man Hunter, ect.) but it tells the story of their sidekicks, at the start it's Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqua Lad, after discovering Super Boy they decide they deserve to be treated like real member of the League and not just sidekicks. They are given a secret base and are handed missions by Batman, trained by Black Canary, and Red Tornado is like their Mentor/Supervision. Most if not all of their missions are revolving an organization called The Light. Overall the series was really good, I enjoyed watching the young heroes learn more about themselves and each other. They start out not really knowing how to operate as a team and struggling to find their own individuality after being in the shadow of their respective mentors. the addition of Miss Martian and Artemis is a welcome treat to break up the boys club and it adds some humor as the guys try and (sometimes) fail to impress the girls. Overall, it is a fun and interesting series, full of action, humor, and suspense. The characters are all very likable (except the villains) and I find them potentially more relatable than the major Justice League members.
