This 2in1 rice shampoo and conditioner bar is longlasting, inexpensive, saves time and also helps save the environment. You can't go wrong. I'm buying this for several of my friends for the holidays! I rarely believe ads, but saw an ad for a competitive brand. I purchased this Venanoci rice water shampoo bar because it was less expensive than the original brand I saw. In addition to being less expensive it also was a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner bar. As I aged, my hair has become more thin, brittle, and unruly. Since I have been using this shampoo bar my hair is unbelievably improved. Thicker, much more manageable and silky, takes me less time to quickly dry, and with a few twirls of a curling iron looks great EVERY day. It's NOT flat anymore, it's NOT flyaway. It's terrific, looks better and makes me feel amazing. It is Vegan and eco friendly, if that's important to you. Also saves electric in the time it takes me to blow dry and quick curl. I traveled with this soap bar which eliminates the need for a bottle of shampoo and a bottle of conditioner, both limited in quantity if you are flying. It is now a one step process, simply shampoo with the soap bar - no conditioning step needed so it saves time for me. I highly recommend this product and will use it forever. Also comes with a small silk bag (which I don't use ). I store the pretty soap, which lasts me for months, in a simple porcelain open soap dish on my tub ledge. Long-lasting, inexpensive, saves time and also helps save the environment. You can't go wrong. I'm buying this for several of my friends for the holidays! I noticed my hair has started to thin and look less healthy over the last few months, and I’ve gotten tired of the regular brand name shampoo/conditioners that I feel like only damage my hair more. I’ve heard so much about rice water and the benefits for hair recently that I wanted to give it a try - this bar was the most fairly priced in my eyes and it looks like others liked it too. Even after one day of using it, my hair feels softer than it ever has before, and healthier. I’ve only used it a few times since buying (saw that you shouldn’t use rice water too often otherwise you risk buildup on your scalp), but the soft feeling lasts all week. I love the smell of this, even though I thought “fermented rice water” would possibly smell a little funky, and even my boyfriend is secretly using it after he realized why my hair smelled so nice. It foams up nicely right away, so I don’t feel like I’m needing to use a ton each time I want to use the bar. I’m excited to see if my hair starts to feel thick and full after some time of using this, but will definitely buy again as soon as I need to.

This bar lathers nicely and seems to strip my hair, or that’s what it feels like. After conditioning, hair feels normal. After drying, hair feels fuller, even thicker. I was worried it would feel dry, but it doesn’t. Only complaint is that it smells like rice. Overall, product is alright. Probably won’t buy again due to the price. Seems $$ for the outcome.

I bought this shampoo bar for a trip and loved it so much that it is now my everyday shampoo. I absolutely adore the scent. It's really intriguing - I would describe it as a combo of floral, oats, and coffee...sounds strange, but it is truly lovely. The bar itself is even pretty! It lathers great and washes out almost effortlessly. My hair does feel thicker since using it, not necessarily due to new hair growth (I've only been using it about 2 months), but it does something to my actual hair that makes it feel and look fuller. I don't find it incredibly hydrating and do have to use a conditioner occasionally, but we also have really hard water. I'm a total convert!

Love love love this. I use rice water to rinse off my hair every once in a while, and I travel a lot, so I figured I'd give this a try. I love the scent (though maybe it could be a little weird to someone who isn't used to rice water?), it lathers up just fine, especially through the little mesh carry pouch (kind of like synthetic loofah will make a small amount of shower gel go a reeeaaallllly long way), and it leaves my hair feeling clean, soft, and *light.* I can't yet speak to how long one bar will last me, but it's worth the price even just for the ability to pack it in my carry-on and for the pat on the back I can give myself for not adding another plastic bottle or three to the nearest landfill.

I ordered this hoping it would be a shampoo plus conditioning bar, even though nothing in the product description said it was anything but a shampoo bar. I read several reviews and some stated that it was both. That is on me because I was hoping it would pass. That said I'm disappointed that the brand doesn't offer a companion conditioning bar like many do. The shampoo works well enough. I dont think it turns to a runny pile of goo as quickly as the other brands I've tried either. That is my biggest complaint about shampoo bars. They cost too much to melt like that- even when I'm careful to put them in sealed soap box and remove from the shower after I shampoo. So frustrating! I'm not sure what to say about the smell. I honestly can't tell if it smells foul or just rice-like but not terribly unpleasant. I definitely dont love it though. The good news is that it doesn't leave any smell behind in your hair once you rinse it out.

Soap has a light pleasant fragrance, lathers well, leaves hair feeling soft and looking shiny and fuller. Like all bar shampoos, it does leave a trace of waxiness behind. This is easily remedied once every two weeks (for daily shampooers) by rinsing with a gentle baby shampoo. Trying to reduce how much plastic we get in household, can't speak to hair growth effectiveness, not purchased for that purpose. Plan to buy again.

This made my hair frizzy like humidity does. I usually have soft hair that lays fairly flat just below my shoulder blades. My hair is approx. 50% grey. This also made my hair feel heavy, like it was dirty or not rinsed. Overall, I didn't like the appearance, texture or feel of my hair using this bar. Update: By the 3rd use the heavy, unwashed feeling is disappearing. Maybe the first two times it was cleansing old stuff out. I also started using more by wiping at my hair until it feels all lathered up. My husband used it on his thinning hair and sees a difference in the fullness.
