Great antenna
I have an ICOM 706MKIIG and I needed just a dual band antenna. So I thought that I would spend a little extra and get the very long one to see if it was better. Boy is it! I can pick up a repeater that's probably 30-40 miles away and it and I are both in the northern part of West Virginia in the mountains. So that's saying a lot. Sometimes I can't even reach the repeater in the same county I live in on the old antennas. I'm hitting some I haven't hit in forever. I just have it clipped on the edge of one of my gutters! Works great and a great deal.

Great little VHF antenna for 2M
I like this little antenna a lot. I did not use the mount as I installed a vehicle specific no drill mount for my pickup instead. The antenna has great reception and I have no problems hitting the local repeaters 5-50 miles away using 25w, I also have no problems working simplex VHF at 50w with it either. I have had reports of my radio cutting in and out on UHF, however I dont know if that is directly attributable to the antenna or if my radio is the problem. I have not checked SWR on it for either band, but the performance on VHF is very good in my opinion.

Junk !!! DO NOT PURCHASE
Don't waste your money on this antenna. It comes with no assembly instructions, poor quality materials and loose fitting parts. Antenna flexibility at the fold over join and doesn't stay upright. Spend a little more money and get another antenna. Mine didn't even come with the lip edge mount. Got just the crappy, junk antenna only.

Works for GMRS with Adjustment for VSWR
Don't buy is you don't have a VSWR tester or don't plan on buying a tester. Heck if you are a do it yourself and you don't have a VSWR tester why are you doing it yourself? You need to test your antenna and that is just a fact. The testers are cheap. Yes, you need to cut the antenna with a hacksaw or ideally with a strong pair of wire cutters. Once you cut it you test it and keep testing it until you the VSWR correct. The antenna will work for GMRS it just needs to be cut to work and tested. You need to test the antenna every year or 6 months depending on weather conditions and where you drive. Pretty basic RF stuff. VSWR testing is required on all cellular systems. Most of them have auto test now in the equipment but in the old school days I had to manually test those big cell sites and it took time. ;) You need to test your systems.

Bad ass
I own a 17 4runner, and I needed a dope ass antenna to go with my midland radio because I didn't like the one midland had sent me.This is amazing. I go off roading so much and I get great reception and great clarity.

Good but bad
Still using the whip. Mount rusted after last winter and would move. But for and inexpensive mount and antenna it works as it should.

Decent dual band antenna
I’m using this as a stealth antenna in my attic. Great reception for dual band VHF and UHF ham radio.

Very Pleased with the product
After passing my GENERAL exam I wanted a 2 meter/70 centimeter mobile radio in my truck. This antenna was exactly what I was looking for. I did have to make a custom bracket for the bracket that came with the antenna to mount the antenna on my truck where I wanted it. This is not uncommon for hams to have to improvise to make something work exactly as they want it to. Overall I am very please with my purchase.
