Behind the Net: a grumpy sunshine hockey romance (Vancouver Storm Book 1)

I absolutely loved this book. I'm a big fan of a grumpy/sunshine and Jamie is a major Grump!Jamie has so many responsibilities he doesn't let outside noise in and his new assistant, Pippa, is the biggest distraction but in the best way.I loved their relationship and how it evolved almost so naturally. I'm glad that neither were angry/irritated that the other had kept it a secret that they remembered each other, that occasionally happens in books and it always bothers me.This had a slow-burn feel to it but it had a sprinkle of spice to keep me hooked.I'll definitely be reading more of Stephanie's books!

I really enjoyed this book. For those who don’t like the spicy scenes maybe give it a miss until you do because there are a good few. But the story is lovely and enjoyable. The only negative I would say is that it got a bit slow towards the end and then the story ended quite quickly. Good quick read.

Behind the Net is a hockey romance novel set in Vancouver, Canada and features main characters Pippa and Jamie. Jamie is a professional hockey player who recently relocated back home from New York in a bid to be closer to his mom to support her. Pippa has spent her years since finishing school touring with her high school sweetheart Zach and his band, but after she is dumped at the airport and given a plane ticket home, she finds herself broke and lonely, forced to crash with her sister. How do their worlds collide after being strangers for so long? You better reaadddd it :)Pippa and Jamie, your story has my heart. Pippa’s growth, rising from the shadow she’s walked in for years and going for everything she ever wanted made my heart SO happy. Jamie, also stepping way out of his comfort zone, letting Pippa in and opening his life to her was such amazing character development. The grumpy x sunshine from the beginning finally turned into sunshine on more sunshine and I am so here for it. This book touches on insecurity, mental health, loss and most importantly and above all, love. It is a romance novel of course what did you expect! Stephanie please never stop writing, this is the 5th book of yours I’ve read this week and I’ll be running out of options soon at this rate. Truly a great read, I will one hundred percent be rereading this, another five star read of yours <3

No third act breakup, just a cute grumpy sunshine novel that warms your heart. I love this couple with my whole heart.

Loved the characters, downhearted and disillusioned Pippa, and grumpy and overprotective Jamie. Phippa is getting over being casually dumped by her "boyfriend and singer",Zach during a tour is back home in North Vancouver, trying to find a way to earn a living, after being told that her songs are mediocre, takes a temporary job working as an assistant to Jamie. Jamie has moved back to Vancouver to look after his mother who suffers from panic attacks, inadvertently adopting a dog he found raiding the bins outside the arena. Both these characters have hangups regarding their emotions. Great story, loved the uplifting nature, can't wait for the next story.

I just adored this book and the reason I titled it comfort read is because I know I will come back to this book time and time again to re read and feel all the feels! I adored both characters development over the course of the book. There was so much amazing built up tension that I just could not stop reading. I read this book in one sitting and will be recommending to everyone I know!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and it does not disappoint.This book is filled with all my favourite tropes - grumpy sunshine, forced proximity, spice coachI normally fly through books in a day, but with Behind the Net I dragged it out over a couple of days, simply because I didn’t want it to end. I LOVE this book, Miss Stephanie has outdone herself this time and I thought nothing could beat the Rhodes brothers 🥰Jamie is book boyfriend goals and I cannot get enough. I’ve never in my life watched hockey but I might have to start hanging around rinks now to get myself a goalie

I’ve been trying to read this for so long and something else always popped up but man am I so glad I read it! So beautiful and full of hope! From high school crushes to life long loves.. such a beautifully written story 💜
