Best solution Ive found for 150# Rottweiler
We have a 150# rottweiler that pulls like CRAZY; he is overly exuberant when he sees people or other dogs and doesn't care who he has to take down in an effort to make new friends.I have been unable to find a harness to fit his ridiculously large chest. I tried a prong collar, but getting it to stay in place is a constant battle the entire walk and I just don't particularly favor using them. I have tried the big name brand head halters and while they help a little, they end up twisting and turning on his muzzle when he tries to pull and ends up poking him in the eye or rubbing the hair off his muzzle.I had to order a size 8 in this to fit his neck. It actually fits great. I like that it acts as a head halter, but it actually attaches behind his head, rather than hanging down from his chin. It's not a miracle worker by any means, but so far it is the best solution I have found.

Converts for sure! No under-chin material is great for jowly dog.
Got this to replace a Halti brand headcollar that was coming apart after only a few months' use with a 10 month old pup. Since he is already headcollar trained, transitioning to the Canny Collar was a snap. And what's more, he's so much more comfortable with this! Before, the under-chin clip that kept his snout "inside" the Halti's loop was never the right balance between loose enough that he could pant fully (and lemme tell ya, hims a panter) and tight enough that it was effective (too loose & it loses leverage). On top of which, that snout-encircling design was always rotating and leaving his upper lips (affectionately referred to as his "mudflaps") stuck up inside and uncomfortable, and the whole thing made him so uncomfortable that he'd try to rub on anything he could reach and was constantly shaking his head trying to get free. They tell you "the dog will eventually adjust" but we've trained him using that style since we got him as a baby puptato, and he never ever liked it.We used this one for the first time on our regular walk last night, and he didn't rub at all, shook his head far less, and put much less pressure on the leash. Instead of spending the whole walk trying to find something to rub on (or paw at it) his head and tail were up and he was looking around, prancing like he'd never taken that path before.

Bought because of recommendation
I had just started my pup in obedience training and this was the collar recommended by the trainer. My pups are large and strong and were pulling me all over. This was very helpful.

Finally a collar that let's me walk my enthusastic/stubborn dog
I have tried 3 other style of collars with my dog that did not work well for me, my dog, or both of us. A regular neck collar was not secure enough, choked my dog, and did nothing to keep my dog from pulling during the entire walk. This was incredibly uncomfortable and fatiguing to my arms. I then tried a simple rope loop collar, but this was worse as it also choked my dog while digging into my hands (although it was more secure).I then purchased a gentle leader collar that goes around the neck and has a muzzle loop that the leash attaches too. This worked a lot better as my dog could not pull hard on the lead without jerking his head around. This provided the security, and the arm relief that I needed, but my dog HATED IT and would constantly stop during the walk and try to pull it off his muzzle. He would also step over the leash when he lowered his head to sniff as he walked. The leash attaches to the lead under his muzzle, which would interrupt the walk as I re-routed the leash to avoid chaffing. I used this collar for about 2 years until I discovered this collar. This collar suffers from none of the problem of the prior collar/leashes. My dog does not step over the leash as it is attached behind his head. He cannot pull hard as the collar applies a corrective force that stops him, without choking or jerking of the head. Is is neither uncomfortable to him or I. My dog still does not like the feeling of the muzzle portion, but it's a huge improvement as he only picks at it at few times during the walk instead of constantly. The collar seems to be of exceptional quality. The material (nylon?) appears to be durable, with double rows of stitching, and eyelets are metal. The collar is a little difficult to setup at first, but then becomes easy to use.Note that you cannot use this with a long leash or retractable lead. If you relax too much pressure the muzzle loop will droop and slip off. That said, within a few minutes we both adjusted our walk style and I found it to be highly effective at controlling my dog without causing discomfort for either of us. My 14 year old child was able to get the hang of it after about 10 minutes.I would recommend this collar to anyone looking for a solution to walking a "spirited" dog. My dogs neck was right between 2 sizes, so I went with the recommended smaller size, and it fits perfectly.

Almost there!
Extremely satisfied with this collar, really helped with the problem of pulling, but my dog hates it & had to get used to it.(worth it) It is a very sturdy design but it needs more padding for the part by my dog's mouth! He is a pitbull mastiff and has really big chops / lips! Otherwise this is the best quality gentle leader I've found on Amazon.

Works great
Had some issues figuring out how to use it, but it works much better than other over the nose collars.

Not worth $40
Maybe order a size down if possible. The plastic piece the straps loop through is way too loose and doesn't have enough friction to keep the loop over the nose. If my dog wasn't pulling and/or was sniffing around it immediately fell off his nose just for him to start pulling again. The straps could be slightly shorter, or the plastic piece could be made with smaller slits and/or with rough edges to add some friction.Giving it 3 stars because it did do it's job when I safety pinned the straps on a 15min walk, my dog has stopped pulling as hard after wearing himself out that one time. This design has worked best for my dog however it's not a collar I love using and think it's worth half the cost.

A big improvement
So, for the last 3 and a half years we've been through multiple harnesses, different leads etc and whilst some have worked better than others there always seems to be a downside. We got a figure of 8 lead which was the best before this one, until our Sprocker started leaning into heavily and ended up snorting like a pig due to the pressure it then exerted on her nose...We bought a harness and although initially it seemed to improve things, she started tanking. So the Canny Collar is a big improvement as she hasn't made any pig sounds.. yet. She does bounce like a Kangaroo on it periodically and my older children find this very difficult to put up with but my husband has taken her out on it a few times too and if you ignore this and allow more slack in the lead, it means she can't constantly do it, generally she walks very nicely. I'd not been able to walk her as she kept pulling on my arm so much I had pain through my shoulders but with this I have no pain in my shoulders... All we need is for her to drop the kangaroo impressions and it'll be perfect.

A beagle at heel
My beagle is an insane lead puller, to the level of embarrassment. She is now coming up to 2 years old and nothing I've tried has worked... Slip leads, front clipped harnesses, hundreds of treats and distraction therapy.I received this collar yesterday - I'm actually concerned they didn't send a collar, but an entirely different dog.Initially the beagle was unhappy with the collar and froze in anxiety, then after a few minutes industriously tries to paw it away from her about. After a few futile minutes she realised it wasn't going anywhere and gave up... So we went for a walk. Now three walks in and she is at heel, relaxed lead with no tension required. Absolute miracle cure, and the beagle is still busy sniffing everything we walk by, appears to be delightfully happy and unconcerned about the snout fabric.Long may she continue to act like this, but no matter what she does in the future this has worked like no other product.Thank you Canny Collar! I'll admit my scepticism has been completely disproven. I would highly recommend this to anyone with an over excited tugging pup.

The best thing I’ve ever brought for my Dog.
This product has changed our lives for the better. It was getting to the point we couldn’t walk our 13 month old labradoodle as he was too strong he pulls like crazy and it was painful to even get out the door, god help us if another dog,cat or bird came across our path. Now he waits patiently walks beautifully and most importantly doesn’t pull our limbs out of our sockets. It’s a much more pleasant walk and even my kids can walk him and my 77 year old father in law. So yes very pleased and would recommend this brand to everyone who has the same issues. It’s not cruel it’s comfortable and painless and strong, Go for it. You will be amazed at the difference in your dog.

This is brilliant!
We have a 7 month old Fox Red Labrador who pulls like a husky and was driving us mad. This was recommended by a prison officer friend who trains prison dogs.It just works, and it worked immediately following a bit of wrestling and wriggling on the floor and it says this might happen in the instructionsThe strap that goes around the dogs nose isn’t tight or anything, but when he pulls on the lead, the strap pulls down gently on his nose, and he just stops pulling. We went for a 40 minute walk, and the lead was wresting on 2 fingers and when he pulled there was little pressure on my fingers but the nose strap gently pulls down and he stops. Simple as that. It was like walking a different dog, I couldn’t believe it.Absolutely brilliant and I can highly recommend it.

Very easy for dog to remove nose collar
I thought I would try this as the reviews were generally favourable. However on the first walk my dog very quickly figured out that if he stops and drops his head the 'nose part/collar' will simply fall off. The only way to keep this on is to keep the lead taught - which as we all know is not possible when walking dogs. I even checked YouTube to make sure I had it fitted correctly - which I did. The problem is the yellow clip that sits underneath is loose and does not have any tension/restriction on the lead/collar. Returned for a refund. Back to the drawing board
