Sadly, we don’t expect to ever visit outer space. For us, the final frontier will most likely remain unexplored. But that doesn’t mean it hasn’t fascinated us endlessly. We’ve pored over books and watched countless documentaries about what exists beyond the Kármán line, and we’ve come away fascinated by a great number of things. One of those things is a common theme mentioned by astronauts returning to Earth: the smell. Yes, space has a smell. When an astronaut returns from a space walk and removes their helmet, they’re hit with a distinct scent. We’ve read many descriptions and decided, since we can’t go to space, let’s bring a little bit of space to us. This candle is designed to smell like outer space. We took the descriptions those astronauts shared in various publications and crafted a 100% soy wax candle out of them. This is space in a can. No space suit required.

Burned out after an hour
Smells like your typical department store and the wick burned out after an hour of burning, not even 1/4 of the candle burned.

Unique concept, poor quality
The smell and concept is unique, but the wax is very poor quality. It does not burn evenly, and the wax is so soft it stays liquid and buries the flame. The result is a lot of wasted product and a short burn time.

Now... think about this!
So this is a cool way to cash in on the concept of going to space in preparation of us moving to Mars in 2045 when we make Elon the first Trillionaire because he convinced us to all buy a ticket. But, and hear me out here, no one knows what space smells like. No one has been in space and lived to report it's aroma. No one living human's olafactory system could confirm the authenticiy of this candle's lab-created, chemically induced nose candy. That's because not one has been in space WITHOUT A SPACE SUIT! And what do those smell like? They smell exactly like the person inside it. And that person doesn't have to go to the ISS to know what they smell like right here on planet earth. Inside that space suit, it smells like their farts, and breath and the astronaut ice cream that we all ate as a kid when you went to your local science museum's gift shop. And inside the ISS, it smells like your grandma's house on Thanksgiving when all those astronauts (or cosmonauts-no exclusions) have their locally made delicacies freeze-dried and reconsituted with their own recycled urnine-water. Just because they went to space doensn't mean they don't still fart and burp and sweat just like your uncle Frank on Thanksgiving after his fourth gin & tonic waiting for your aunt Jane to hurry up and get the "damn bird on the table... I'm hungry woman!" Those way-over-qualified for life human beings up there in that little box orbiting our planet stink just as bad as you and me. It's like being on a 22 hour road trip with your three siblings and dad won't stop for the night in a motel because he says he's, "not paying for some liberal California hippy to send their kid to art school and not be a hard working American". And now we gotta belief you captured THAT smell and put it in a candle? Because THAT my friends is the only thing that any living humanoid knows as the smell of "space". Also when you burn a wick it'll just smell like carbon so...
