Good Timer, Excellent Customer Service
Easy to install and setup, works exactly as expected. I've been using this timer to water my herb garden for over a year now. The only critique I have is that I had the unit fail, leaking water through, however Rainpoint stood by their product and replaced it with no hassle, so I can say they have excellent customer service. Remember to check the batteries!

Amazing Customer Service
Excellent. These work great. I ordered one and through fault of my own had an issue but had reached out to customer service and they were very quick to send out a new one. They are super easy to set up and don’t leak even when I accidentally left one in when the water froze.

Helpful for grass seeding
I bought two of these for a grass seeding project this past fall -- one for a small area in my front yard and another for a larger area in my back yard -- although in retrospect I wish I had gotten the two-zone timers. Still, it beat the pants off manual watering multiple times a day. The interface is easy to use but I do have two small gripes with it that I think would improve the product. The first is with making adjustments during the day. If I set a start time for, say, 8:00am but then realize I need to adjust the watering duration or frequency, it cancels watering until 8:00am the next day. I wish it would instead retroactively apply the changes to the start time and calculate the next watering time from that. The second is I wish I could limit the number of waterings per day, or else set an end time, because I don't need to water grass seed throughout the night. In my case I was watering for 5-10 minutes every couple hours during daylight hours, but each evening I would have to remember to go close the valve for the night and then reopen it in the morning. That frankly undermines the benefit of having a timer. At one point I did have one of the timer valves jam on me, to where water would not pass through even when it was supposed to be running. I tried running on manual mode several times like the Rainpoint website suggests, but to no avail. Rather than call customer support, I got a small screwdriver and opened the outer case and took the inner mechanism apart. Never found the source of the jam, but somehow just taking it apart and reassembling it fixed the jam. I probably voided my warranty in doing so, but it wasn't very difficult and it was useful to understand how the valve mechanism worked internally. And I probably resolved the problem faster than if I had contacted customer support. These are worth the money, in my opinion, but next time I have a large seeding project I think I'll upgrade to the two-zone timers.

Fantastic Upgrade for Hassle-Free Lawn or Plant Care!
I recently purchased the 2024 RAINPOINT Sprinkler Timer (metal version), and I couldn't be more impressed! Setup was quick and intuitive, thanks to the large, easy-to-read LCD display that clearly shows all the important details—watering time, frequency, and even battery level. The metal construction feels extremely durable, and the brass swivel inlet ensures a tight, leak-free connection. One of my favorite features is the rain delay option, which automatically pauses watering for up to 72 hours when rain is forecasted—great for conserving water and protecting plants from overwatering. The manual mode is equally handy for those spur-of-the-moment watering needs, and it doesn’t interfere with the programmed schedule. I also appreciate the low-battery alert, which helps prevent any surprise interruptions. It’s reassuring to know the valve closes automatically if the battery runs low. After a few weeks of use, my garden has never looked better, and I spend far less time managing it. At under $35, this is an excellent value—reliable, efficient, and built to last. Highly recommend for any home gardener looking to automate their watering routine!

Super easy and reliable
Great system. I live in South Texas and we are dry! I got this to use minimal water but keep my plants alive. I have had other auto waters in the past but this one surpasses them with ease of use and reliability. Extremely simple to set up. All the supplies to run water to your plants come with it. You only need a pair of scissors to cut lengths of tubing and a cup of HOT water to dip the ends into to easily slip them on the fittings. It took less than 45 minutes to set up the whole system. I will be buying a second one for another area of my yard.

Worked great til it didn’t
This worked really well and was easy to program. It didn’t leak and fit our garden hose to our orchard perfectly. However, it’s been a year of use and the manual button no longer works. Plus the time is 8 hours behind but we can no longer set the time. We replaced the batteries to see if that’s why it wasn’t working but no dice. We had purchased two, one for the orchard and one for the garden for a trip and ended up putting the garden one in for the orchard since they trip was a year ago and we manually turn on garden water now. Hopefully it’s a faulty one although I suppose $30 for an auto water system for a year is ok? Not sure if I’d buy again for longevity but worked decently for the 15 months we used it.
