Huge value for money.
I am very much acquainted with these T-mobile T9 hotspots as someone who works for a school district. The T9's are a very solid hotspot and have many features that make them very useful. They were used by districts around the U. S. during the lockdowns in 2020, and have been used in emergency situations. So they are a dime a dozen. The one major advantage of these hotspots is that they run a form of Linux, and therefore can not only be carrier unlocked, but rooted as well. This means, if you are willing to do a bit of research, you can purchase a very powerful 4G hotspot for under $20, that has been proven. I bought this hotspot from one of the sellers here on Amazon, refurbished, for less than $14. Huge value for money in my book for a hotspot I can use anywhere and I know it will just work. The only real disadvantage is that the settings are all through a web interface.

It works for MQTT but you have to unlock it which is fortunately easy.
It came with a T-Mobile Sim card and actually connected to their network. I got it so my ESP32 iot projects could connect to the internet. The T-Mobile card sends you to a captive portal where you are supposed to click to login. It's not functional that I can tell, but worse, the ESP32 hangs up! When you login to the hotspot management page (192.168.0.1) it is kind enough to allow you to unlock it for access to any carrier! Very kind. There are online guides to help. It's actually pretty easy. I used an online Linux terminal since I only have Windows. It generated the unlock code to my surprise. I installed a prepaid eiotclub card I also bought here on Amazon. Voila it worked.

Locked to T-Mobile but works effortlessly!
I purchased this hotspot after having added another sim to my T-Mobile account. It is only 4g but it is enough for my use.

Not bacd... but -
I like this product, though it is basically obsolete. It does have issues cutting out even though I am getting solid bars. The item was not unlocked so I did find a site to perform that option. I got the SIM from EIOTClub and when installed it worked and allowed me to do a firmware update. The issue I have is not knowing who I am connecting to: AT&T or T-Mobile. This information is not available either on the device or it's internal webpage.

Works well, but needs a new sim.
I recently purchased this used T-Mobile hotspot and overall, I'm very happy with it. However, when I received the device, the SIM card was expired, which was a bit of a disappointment. I had to go to a T-Mobile store to have the SIM card replaced, which was a minor inconvenience. Once I got the new SIM card, the hotspot worked flawlessly. It has a strong signal and provides fast internet speeds. I've used it for streaming videos, gaming, and downloading large files, and it has handled everything without any issues. The hotspot is also very easy to use. It has a simple interface that makes it easy to connect to the internet and manage your settings. I also appreciate that the hotspot is small and lightweight, making it easy to carry around with me. Overall, I'm very happy with my T-Mobile hotspot. It's a reliable and convenient way to stay connected to the internet on the go. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a mobile hotspot. Pros: Strong signal Fast internet speeds Easy to use Small and lightweight Cons: SIM card was expired when I received the device
