World War 2 History For Kids: A Timeline of Fascinating Facts, Characters and Stories of Courage that Inspire & Educate

This book made WWII very accessible and laid it out in an easy to comprehend way. I love reading historical fiction from this era, but have never really seen the timeline and what came before. I love that he started with a little about WWI because really that impacted why WWII started and what happened. He also touches on so many events and aspects of WWII, asking introspective questions about the choices that were made. I can't wait to share this book with my children as we dive into studying WWII.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

3-3.5 StarsA brief intro to most of the major themes of World War II, this non-fiction work is best for older middle grades. The book hits most of the highlights and is a good introduction. Although not all main topics were included, let's be honest, there's just too much information on WWII to even try to incorporate it in one. It does provide the basics. The author's tone is serious but positive while not shying away from areas that some may gloss over. A good conversation starter for kids, the author also attempts to correlate each section with a contemporary example or case. The last chapter can be shortened a bit, though.BookSirens Review Copy

I can appreciate the book is written for kids, bought for my son aged 10.So the content is ok to good, but more detail is needed, for the price point I expected more detail and content.There is fact but I see a real lack of evidence based reasoning which for a child maturing to high school would be good... to challenge the reader.In two minds to return or keep.
