Just as described and worked great. I'm a big fan of the rubber seals. This is my first time using them so can't say if they will last indefinitely like as the plastic ones but they feel much nicer in use. Honestly the old standard plastic seals never gave me any trouble as far as leaks or anything. But even when everything was together and tightened up you could shift the pipes around a little bit and feel the seals slipping in the joints. Like I said, never had any trouble with leaks from them but they just never really seemed that nice or instilled much confidence till you watched them for a few days and made sure nothing was dripping or needed a little extra tightening. With these rubber washers everything really feels nice and snug. You get everything together and give the pipes a little wiggle and everything feels tight. You can feel a little flex in the seals but you can feel its gripping onto the pipe. I don't know, they just feel like a step up quality-wise to me. I hope this TPR rubber keeps it's elastomeric properties and doesn't dry out on me. Also I like that this assembly is PVC rather than polypropylene which it seems like everything is switching to. The PP stuff just feels a little too flimsy and flexible for slip joints and tailpipe joints for my taste and I imagine it would only get more flexible with some hot water going down the pipes. Seems likely to deform or something. Just me, I prefer the more rigid feel of PVC and it's already earned my trust over the years.

This is the 3rd one of these I've bought. I've been remodeling my bathrooms one by one over the past 2.5 years. This pack basically has everything you need, no matter your sink configuration... unless you have something super-unusual going on down there. :) It includes more parts and gaskets than you'll need, because it accommodates various sink drain sizes/diameters and types. So, some parts will go unused. I've had my first one now for about 2.5 years. None have ever leaked. You can use a PVC glue, but it is not necessary, due to the compression gaskets, which form a very good seal. I did not use any glue. I did the installation myself and I found putting these on very easy. And I'd buy again... if I had another bathroom left to re-do. I always read reviews before purchasing, and find some quite helpful, so I hope you find this review helpful!

I think we've all been there, you go to The Home Depot, snag the 1-1/2 or 1-1/4 inch kit, expect greatness and then be let down by their junk seals they use. I tried to use a 20 Gauge chrome kit, but leaks formed near the slip joint nut and threw in the towel after trying to get it to work for an hour or so. I've ordered this kit twice, it's solid and feels of good quality. I think it's proper schedule 40, which is just icing on the cake. The seals are fantastic, rubberized vinyl (maybe?). It contains a reducer washer, which worked great when transitioning from a 1-1/4 tail piece into a 1-1/2 extension tube (not in the kit) and from there into the P-trap assembly. You'll need to pickup the 6" extension tube, which is sold separately to get the setup pictured. Happy DIY'ing.
