Quality bit for the price
I surfaced a 24" by 30" slab of oak with this bit and a forty year old Craftsman router. It did the job with no problem with fantastic results. Yes the bit is bit short because it's a 1/4" shank but I knew that going in and when I made my surfacing jig table I compensated for that. Within a couple of minutes of my learning curve I was amazed by the results. I bought two bits just in case but the first one is still sharp. I only took off maybe an eight of an inch every time and let the router do the work without forcing it too hard. Very happy with the performance. Very happy with the purchase!

Very durable bit that I used to reduce the thickness of full planks
Perfect for my task and I can truly attest to the durability now. I had to reduce the thickness of some pine planks to fit for a project. Instead of spending a lot on an electric pass-through planer, I tried this surfacing router bit. I set the depth on my router to 3/16" and went over my boards twice to reduce their thickness by 3/8" inches. These were 8x 5 foot planks and each one needed about 10 passes to complete. My router is cordless and I had a battery cycle running laps through 4 batteries but I got through the task and this sturdy little bit held up and was still making clean cuts. I literally put about 40 sq ft of wear and tear on this bit over the 3 days it took to finish.

BINSTAK CNC Spoilboard Surfacing Router Bit
Works well. Does leave marks with each pass, however. Sanding took care of that, though.

Clean cutting bit
Bit came in fast. I'm using it on mixed hardwoods and it cuts well and cleanly. I've had a little bit of burning, but that could be user error. The cuts are smooth and sharp.

Works extremely well!
This thing worked perfectly to flatten out some desktops I made. After gluing some regular pine 2x material together to make a table top, this bit worked like a charm, in combination with an easy to make router sled, to flatten it out. I'm currently typing this review on the desk tops I made with them! Couldn't be more happy!

Nice bit!
I bought this flattening bit to go with the router I use in my router sled. It's a 2-inch diameter so it cuts a good amount with every pass. So far, it has held up well, with no issues with the sharpness. It's less expensive than some, so that's a good quality, since it is holding up so well. I recommend it.

Not useful for hardwood on the 4040 Reno
Tried to flatten a piece of hard maple where the surface varied up to 2mm, and taking shallow bites (.5mm). The bit chattered tremendously and did more harm than good. I ended up with a better surface using a 3.2mm bit, but of course it took over an hour to do.UPDATED - I found an issue with my machine setup that adversely impacted all work, so please disregard for now - I'll provide an update once I have the robot tuned up.
