Clean install without modifications and no leaks so far.
Finally decided to spend the money and purchase despite some of the reviews concerning leaks. Install was as expected. It was very helpful to watch an install video on YouTube. Have driven at least 400 miles after install and no leaks seen so far. Kinda looking forward to the next oil change just to experience how much more simple it will be.

Worth the Hassle
Recently installed this on my '03 V-Star Silverado and I won't lie, the initial install was probably one of the biggest pains I've ever endured in regards to mechanics. Actually installing the product was a breeze aside from the exhaust removal and oil drain, the included instructions were by no means vague, but if you're still having trouble there is a great video on YouTube for assistance. Problems began to arise following assembly, and what a surprise when it occurred with leakage. Initially it was leaking from the diverter itself, but after torquing it down some more that issue was rectified. The next problem came from leaks where the cables linked into the diverter housing, but these were easily handled through the application of thread sealer and more torquing. After having to remove and put back the exhaust for three days, I can assure you that this product is well worth the time saved, and I would rather spend hours fixing this once than removing the exhaust every few thousand miles. Overall a good product, but I suppose opinions vary on this topic.

Very happy with the kit
Ordered kit, and came just as advertised. Having recently purchased my V-Star, I had never taken it apart, so taking the exhaust off was a bit of an experience. The video on the Barons website helped. My only complaint is the instructions are a bit ambiguous when it comes to which original bolts to use alongside the kit bolts once you mount the kit. My bike had 3 different lengths to choose from, whereas the instructions with the kit only referred to 2 lengths (lengths were the same, but all had different length shoulders.) In any case, after playing with it for about 15 minutes, I got it figured out. The instructions included could have just been a bit more helpful and clear. It would also be helpful to mention that with the new filter, the bike will require more than the stock 3.1L of oil. I started with the factory spec of 3.1L on a filter replacement, only to realize that my oil light would come on when my bike was on the stand. (I was very careful to check for leaks after installation and had none.) So, the only explanation is that there is more oil required than the 3.1L. I had to put in about 3.25L to prevent an oil light and fill out the sight glass. I makes sense as the new filter is a bit bigger, plus you have the lines to fill in the kit. Would have just been nice if the exact amount of oil that needed to be replaced was mentioned in the instructions. Otherwise, I am completely happy. Oil changes are now a breeze and I have no leaks. I did check around before buying and some of the other kits had hose clamps which were prone to leaking. This kit comes pre-assembled with crimped fittings on the high pressure oil lines, I have read these are superior and in practice, I have had no issues thus far with 600 miles on the kit.

Eliminates troubles with changing oil filter
I'm giving this item a 5 star rating, simply because of its functionality, even though the price is a bit exorbitant. I have full cobra exhaust installed on my 2005 Yamaha Vstar 1100 classic which had to be FULLY REMOVED in order to change the oil filter on my bike. Installation of the Baron relocation kit makes it so I can change the filter in a matter of minutes now. It also reduces the risk of scratching up my exhaust, or breaking exhaust flange nuts/studs during removal of the exhaust during oil changes.I was a little bit frustrated that the manufacturer doesn't provide any Permatex thread sealant with the kit. the flange fittings that screw into the tapped aluminum body weren't sealed well and leaked all over the place when I first installed the unit on my bike. Application of Permatex Form-a-gasket (non-hardening) sealant fixed all leaks from the threaded fittings. Buy some prior to installing your Baron unit and place it on the tapped threaded connections (don't place it on the flanged connection points of the hoses, or you'll probably end up with a leak.)Another thing you might consider when preparing to install this is whether or not you need to re-locate your brake fluid reservoir. I had to relocate mine (again), since the installation of my cobra exhaust necessitated relocating it from the original location. (not sure if this is necessary with stock exhaust).I see some units on other sites which look similar to this, but are shown as being un-assembled in the sales pictures, the pricing on those units appears to be a bit more reasonable that the price for the Baron units. I have no experience with them, so I can't comment on the quality.
