Sure- it works as a nesting box, but so does an empty cat litter bucket. The cheap plastic lids will NOT stay on. Every time I check for eggs at least one lids come off, and it’s not the easiest to just snap back on. Sometimes the chickens will knock them off. Also, the area where the eggs roll to is not very deep and egg eaters can get their heads in to eat eggs.

The box arrived with a torn corner. The item was slightly dented there but not that bad. The small bag of screws and nuts, to assemble the unit, however, was torn open, and many parts were missing. As I had to wait 5 days to receive the item, and needed it right away (my girls were eatign all the eggs) I was not very thrilled to find I'd have to go back to town again, to buy hardware to assemble the unit. Gas costs lots, you know the deal. Anyway, I modified this to be a reverse roll out by placing it on the ouside of my coop and covering the opening. I bought 2 pieces of loose vinyl flooring and used sheet metal screws to attach it to the outside. Some foil tape and caulk and I was good to go. I have 6 chickens. The claim of this servicing 12 is a joke. Only one chicken at a time can fit in these boxes. Even for one, the individual box size is small. All in all for the price it was a decent deal. I took one star off for the missing parts, and another for amazon refusing to compensate me in any way for having to buy my own hardware.

Great value for price.

We got this because we have a hen that thinks all the eggs that get laid are for her to eat. It took about five (5) days for the hens to get used to it and start using it but it's a success! Now I'm getting the eggs. LOLIt's easy to set up and works perfectly at keeping any egg eating chickens from eating them. They don't even know they're in there. I just hope she doesn't see me taking the eggs out of there and figure out how to get in there herself. It's definitely worth the price and I highly recommend it. 💯
